The fan itself seems excellent - powerful and reasonably quiet. BUT, the roof mounting plate that you need to mount this on an exterior roof (or wall - I mounted it on the roof) is a stunningly not thought out. It's just a flat sheet of metal onto which you screw the fan unit shown. Between the fan unit and the mounting plate you put on two rubber-ish, adhesive gaskets. But no physical barrier to divert water from going under the unit, and nothing directing water around the unit. My roof installer laughed out loud - no way that will keep water out over time. He engineered an L-shaped metal barrier glued onto both the unit and the mounting plate to at least attempt to prevent water from going under the unit, and eventually into my kitchen.

Purchased to replace an older unit. Works as advertised. One of the best exhaust fans in the market.

I love this Thermador external blower. It's powerful and since it mounted outside, my kitchen is not noisy when it runs (even at level 3, 4). I have this pair with Thermador 48" hood and they work perfectly together. The only thing is they required 10" duct and it caused a bit of headache for us during the installation.
