This microwave could be the greatest microwave I’ve owned, if not for the terrible start up and stop noises it makes. We got it as a package and didn’t read the reviews. Took 4 months to get. My guess is that no one buys this microwave as a stand-alone product, but because they own other thermador appliances and want a matching set. If thermador would provide a fix to the ridiculous sounds, allow the microwave to remain in standby mode so it can get to cooking quicker (it takes 7 steps to turn it on for 1 minute), and just provide a few quick function buttons it could be so great.

Microwave ordered as a part of whole kitchen but the build quality is alright i have had better countertop microwave combi units than this one.once you turn on the chime is played on a speaker that was manufactured in 1990 and once thd food start moving inside it makes a noice like a old car fan belts stay away guys even the clock dont display time when off.

The Thermador Speed Oven was purchased as part of a complete Thermador kitchen suite and installed early 2022. It looks beautiful and performs great with many fabulous utilization options. It is a complex workhorse with many impressive features...of which just one of the features is a MICROWAVE. Therein lies the problem. As a microwave we absolutely hate it. It is the most annoying appliance I have ever owned. The incessant sounds it makes either starting it up or at completion are piercing and drive me absolutely crazy. If you don't open the door when the cooking function is complete it continues to beep. Imagine trying to host family and friends with this hideous alarm beeping throughout meal preparation. But perhaps more frustrating is the user interface. My first microwave in the 80's was easier to use to warm up a cup of coffee than this $3,000 monster. It takes multiple steps and seconds just to turn it on using the "quick" 30 second feature. Want to soften a tablespoon of butter for 10 seconds? Forget it. It took me 21 seconds to just program the setting! I totally get why Thermador gives you this product for free when you purchase a complete kitchen because if I had paid for it, it would have been returned.

Never used the oven settings for cooking.. I ised the microwave for simple reheating. Broke inless than 2 years. Its a great thing to purchased a extended warranty, especially when buying an expensive item such as this Especially with the poor quality with today products

The start and stop noises is the MOST OBNOXIOUS thing about this Thermador microwave - Amazing with all the negative reviews received re the obnoxious sound for this MC30WP microwave- Thermador Still manufactures this and has not rectified the customer complaints- never buy Thermador appliances.

Replaced microwave with the speed oven. The added versatility is definitely an upgrade. Also found the oven has a much more substantial feel when cross-shopping with microwave drawers.

Appliance came the digital interface failed within 48 hours. Appliance statred to arc. Replaement not due for three weekd. Very very disappointed in the appliance. The interface is also terrible.

Repeated problems with this appliance. To the point that Thermador will *eventually* replace it. Broken convection fan, broken tray tabs, broken speaker. It has been services 5 times in the year I've had it and we've been waiting for the "lemon" replacement for three months.

This microwave/oven combination looks great. That is where the compliments end. First, it plays (via a very poor quality speaker), these long, loud, obnoxious sounds when you turn on the microwave (yes, you have to turn on the microwave each and ever time) to use and (repeatedly) when it is done. Second, if you want to microwave something for 45seconds, it takes 8 button presses, finger swipes, and nob turns to get the microwave started. It is a terrible user interface and an even worse user experience by anyone's measure. I wish we had bought a different brand of appliances. I'm very disappointed and you will be too.

1 star is too many. Every time I use this microwave a little piece of me dies. There are dials, buttons, and a touch screen and you can't do even the simplest thing without using all of them. The sounds (chimes) it makes are incredibly obnoxious and never ending. I put tape over the speaker to try and muffle them, but still bad. My goal is to one day take this thing outside and beat it with a baseball bat. If you can't tell - I don't like it.
