First use was a 17lb Christmas brisket on my Kamado ceramic grill. 7 + hours. 3/4 of the battery still remained. It was so much nicer than my other wireless thermometers because it didn't care it was only 8° f outside.

Have only used it a couple of times ... Not so sure about having to bury the THICK spike in a steak/fish/etc ... sometimes what i am cooking is not thick enough to support the Spike. Great part is that it is magnetic and will stick to the fridge so you never have to look for it ... until someone doesn't return it to it's proper place :-)
