The Tineco Moda One Hair Dryer, while more expensive than those found at the box or discount stores, will be much more valuable to its users because, quite frankly, it styles your hair nicer and how much is that worth.
So, once you have made the decision to spend the money, this machine really does a nice job not leaving its users with dry, frizzy, unmanageable do's. I believe that is mostly because this hair dryer recognizes when the hair is wet vs dry and can adjust for it, in real time, not drying ones tresses beyond what needs to be done. In fact, the back of the dryer has 3 light colors that it will display-red where moisture is detected and airflow and heat change with the amount of moisture, blue- where no moisture is detected so the airflow is more gentle and the temperature is adjusted, and then no color if the dryer is out of range where it can detect moisture and stays in an energy-saving state.
I have used it only a couple of times since recently receiving it, but I am very happy and satisfied with my hair's outcome, so much smoother and fuller. The manufacturer does recommend to clean out the air inlet filter regularly in order to maintain its high standard of performance. It is simple to remove the cover by turning it counter clockwise, use a cloth to wipe it out, and then turn it clockwise to put the cover back on.
The Moda One comes with 3 magnetic air flow styling tips, 1 diffuser to allow for curls to be dried without blowing the curl out of your hair, and then 2 tips, one for more smooth hair application that produces softer and gentler air flow to smooth your hair, and the other one is a styling concentrator which directs precise airflow to a specific area, as demonstrated in a picture of the card, attached, using a round brush, while quickly drying the hair.
So, there is a Tineco app for both IPod and android smartphones that can be used to follow your hair drying. I have an Android phone so I went to the Google Play Store and downloaded it. I noticed that it had a 2.7 out of 5.0 user rating so I do not hold out much hope on this now. I downloaded the app, connected to my network, and that allowed my hair dryer to automatically be signed up for its warranty. The app did ask me to choose a mode, which I did auto, but I do not know why you would want to be pigeon-holed. What if you wash your dog and you want to use that function. At any rate, I need to either play around with that feature more, call the company for help, or uninstall the app, and re-install it to start again.
Bottom line, I really this hair dryer, it is ergonomic, stylish, and easy to use, but mostly it leave my hair nice.
