This USB4® Male-to-Male Charge-and-Sync Cable from Tripp Lite® by Eaton® transmits across 2 bidirectional lanes, supporting speeds up to 40 Gbps, which is 8x faster than USB 3.0/3.1/3.2. Unlike previous USB generations, the USB4® 40-Gbps cable has the ability to allocate resources. Instead of splitting video and data equally between its 2 lanes, the U521-1P0M-WH allows the connected display as much bandwidth as it needs, while saving all remaining bandwidth for high-speed data transfers. This makes the cable ideally suited for 4K or 8K video streaming and editing, as well as transferring large RAW video or CAD files. By connecting a 4K or 8K display to a host device that supports DisplayPort™ Alt Mode 2.1, this cable can use both high-speed lanes to transmit 4K or even 8K video at 60 Hz in 1 direction at 80 Gbps maximum speed with 30-bit Deep Color, HDR and 4:4:4 chroma subsampling. Connected to a host that supports DisplayPort™ Alt Mode 1.4, the U521-1P0M-WH can transmit 8K at 30 Hz. Though both connected devices must support USB4® 40 Gbps for the cable to reach its full potential, the U521-1P0M-WH is backward compatible with USB 3.x, USB 2.0 and Thunderbolt™ 3 devices. It connects 2 USB-C® devices, including MacBooks, Chromebooks, Windows laptops, Kindles, game consoles, smartphones, external hard drives, docking stations, and wall chargers. It is compatible with all USB-C® and Thunderbolt™ 3 devices, enabling use in existing installations while preparing for future upgrades.
