Over the last few years, I've had the pleasure of trying out quite a few small sized projectors and usually like a lot about them but they also usually come with some pretty basic and ugly UI. Not a huge problem if you're going to plug a FireTV or Roku stick into them anyways, but with this Vankyo model, you don't need to do that at all! Setup was pretty easy. The projector has auto keystone and auto focus that activates when you turn it on as well as any time it detects movement so you don't have to worry much about that. Enter your wifi information, do a really quick software update, and you're presented with a QR code you can scan with your phone to log in to a Roku account. A lot of the setup process is less painless because you're just checking boxes for your preferences and what apps you'd like straight from your phone. When you're done, it'll load the apps you need (and sadly, a lot more) and you're ready to go. The actual projected image is really nice. One thing that surprises me the most about a lot of these small form factor projectors is just how good they still look. The included screen is easy to set up if you have the wall space but if you have a white or grey wall, you'll still get a decent picture. I mentioned the auto keystone and focus before. Keystone is also manually adjustable and you can toggle the auto features to just auto focus instead of re-keystoning every time you power on. This way, you can zoom and set your image to the exact size you'd like based on where you have available to place the actual projector. You'll feel right at home using everything if you're used to the Roku software. I'm personally not and would rather not have all the recommended stuff. Luckily you can customize your home screen to turn off the recommended and quick access sections so you're just left with your apps and inputs for the most part. You can move things around so all the apps are where you'd like them and remove the ones you don't need because there will be a lot more apps installed than you selected during setup. Built in speakers are about what you'd expect from any built in speakers. They're serviceable but you'd be better off with something better. Luckily you have options! The HDMI input is also ARC compatible so if you have a soundbar or some other speaker system with ARC, you can plug into there. You can also connect a bluetooth speaker which is my preferred method for my kids. Downsides really boil down to how much you like Roku and how much you can look past the giant side advertisements you get that take up half of your home screen and occasionally pop up on the bottom of your menus as well. I'm not a big fan but this projector is mainly for the kids so I can look past it. All in all, this is one of the best portable projectors I've tried. It's a bit pricier than a lot of the other ones I've tried as well but because it's an all-in-one package, you just need wifi and power and you're off to the races. You can take it with you and use it on any flat, white-ish surface without needing to also carry around another streaming stick. That doesn't seem like a huge deal but I really like it. If you're looking for a small projector that will just work out of the box, this is one to give a look at.

I never had a Roku TV device before, so it was cool to get it on a projector natively. My first positive impression of this projector was its ability to auto focus providing a clear picture without having to manually focus. I thought that was nice compared to the 2 projectors that I already have. Next, I like how the remote infrared light can go through devices so that I don't need to point the remote directly at the projector. I liked the projector's interface and how I can easily navigate the menu within the first few minutes. I think the projector supporting Airplay is a plus for Apple device owners. I also want to say that the projector's wallpaper and screensaver are excellent options to have. Most important to me are picture clarity and sound in my opinion, I will declare that the sound from this projector is superior to my other projectors which are only a few years older giving loudness without static and rumbling. I wished that the projector had legs so that I could tilt the projector easier without placing objects underneath. I also wished the remote response was a bit faster, pressing the buttons on a remote to do a 16-character password was not fun due to delay reaction to my button pressing. This was no big deal, but it took me over a minute to try to locate where to plug in the power cord. Overall, auto focus and the user interface were my favorite features of this projector. I did not test connecting Bluetooth speakers and casting to a streaming device or use Airplay.

This is such a hassle. You have to sign up just to plug in your phone and project it on the white screen, I needed this for an important phone call so we could all see my son of his FaceTime video call from Boot Camp. It didn’t happen, and wasted my time and money. The screen is just a white sheet you stick up with sticky tabs.

Brand Response from Vankyo Team
We’re sorry the product didn’t meet your expectations.
Please note that the Roku account setup process, including the payment method requirement and the available options to bypass it, is determined by Roku and is not controlled by the projector manufacturer.

The Vankyo Leisure 570RB Wireless Roku projector is fantastic little projector with a ton of features built in that is ready for your living room or anywhere you want to make an instant home theater. Set up is a snap and from the first rip of the tape on the box to the opening credits on your favorite tv show or movie it’s less than 30 minutes worth of set up. Most of that is getting the screen (that is INCLUDED!!!) on the wall. That’s the toughest part. Got a bigger area you want to project onto? No problem. I have it located in my bedroom and at 12 feet I’m projecting at least 150” with crystal clarity on a flat light blue wall in a dark room. No discoloration noticeable. As far as the set up goes the projector is practically hands free, from auto-focus, to auto-keystone it’s practically plug and play. Bump it a little? No problem. It will readjust to get the angle just right so that your screen never goes out of focus or off key. If you NEED to you can find manual versions in the settings but this product does a phenomenal job on its own. Setting up a Roku account (if you don't have one) is easy. And logging into the apps you have is made simple. Navigation is kept streamlined for ease of use. Loading times are a little slow at times but it’s not to the point where it’s unbearable. The sound does tend to leave something to be desired but its not terrible and I didn’t expect surround sound from a small projector. I also wish it came with mounting equipment for ceiling mounts. But other than that this is a great projector for streaming anything you want and turning any room into an instant theater.

The Vankyo Leisure 570RB is a nice medium sized projector that’s marketed as “Mini” but is still easy to move around and doesn’t feel bulky. Setup is super simple thanks to the auto focus and auto keystone, so you don’t have to worry about getting the picture straight. It will auto adjust each time it senses the projector has been moved and works well. I was impressed. The Roku theme packs are a fun touch too — they switch up the wallpaper and sounds and make the whole thing feel a little more personal. I was impressed with the accessibility options. You get a captions mode, a screen reader, and you can tweak the speech rate and pitch. It’s nice to see a company implement these features for those that need them. The projector also gives you a bunch of mounting and orientation choices, whether you’re putting it on a table or hanging it from the ceiling, you can also use front or rear projection methods depending on your space and your screen. The built-in speaker is loud and clear for everyday TV watching. It doesn’t have much bass, but for regular tv shows its totally fine. I’d recommend using the 3.5mm Audio out jack to hook up an external speaker/speaker system for movie night! This will give you much fuller sound. Picture quality is solid for the price, especially in a dark room where everything looks sharper and more colorful. When the projector sits idle, it shows these nice built in backdrops that act like a screensaver, which is a cool little detail. Roku’s Guest Mode is also handy if someone wants to use their own account without messing with yours. Ports are easy to get to on the side of the unit which include one HDMI, one 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB A port. There’s also a ¼ 20 threaded insert on the bottom, so you can mount it to a tripod or ceiling bracket, which gives you a lot of flexibility. The silicone lens cover is a nice bonus. It doesn’t snap in or anything, it just kind of sits there, but it hasn’t fallen off so it’s not a big deal. The touch buttons on top work well once everything’s set up, but they didn’t respond during the initial setup, so I had to use the remote. Speaking of the remote, the volume buttons are on the side, which feels weird at first but ends up being pretty convenient since you can find them without looking. The fact that Roku is built into this projector means you have access to pretty much any streaming service you could think of and this makes the projector really shine. It’s basically like a little computer that also projects. I will most likely never use it with an external source unless there is a specific reason, most of the time I will be using it for Netflix or another popular streaming service that we use. The biggest downside is the Bluetooth audio. There’s a noticeable delay, so the lips don’t match the sound, and there’s no way to fix it. It makes Bluetooth basically useless for watching anything. Also, like most projectors, you really need a dark room to get the best picture. The included screen works, but it’s basically a thin sheet with eyelets, and because it’s folded in the box, it has creases that don’t look great. Overall, I’ve been really enjoying using this projector and can’t wait to implement it outside for backyard movie nights! If you're in the market for your first projector or even just a great projector at a good price, I'd say give this one a look, its pretty good.

I kind of thought this projector might be a bit more annoying to set up, but it was really pain-free. There's a 100-inch cloth screen included, with reinforced metal eyelets so you can attach it to your wall without losing any floor space by having a mounted screen (it also comes with sticky wall hooks in case you're renting - I personally used push pins though). It being cloth means you can take it down and put it away any time you don't need it without having to do any special type of storage. When you first turn it on, the projector shows a pattern it uses to automatically keystone and focus, so even if you've moved it since the last time you used it you don't have to try to remember key combinations or hunt through blurry menus. It's pretty much the same level of plug-and-play as a normal Roku TV. The user experience is pretty nice. It handles identically to a Roku TV, the only difference being that there's no TV tuner and there's an extra option in the settings menu for projector-specific settings (you can tell it to redo the keystone/focus option in case it doesn't do so automatically, and toggle off a setting that allows the projector to automatically keystone/focus if it detects it's been moved. The UI itself and all the streaming apps I've tried all ran well and didn't have any issues with being laggy or crashing. As far as the projector's body goes, there's a mounting bracket on the bottom (with options in software to support being ceiling-mounted), there are touch controls on top in case you lose your remote, and on the side there's an HDMI input (as well as USB, audio out, and a physical reset button). The bottom also has an adjustable leg so you can physically tilt the projector if needed to point it at the screen right, if it's mounted lower than the screen. All the feet are rubber, so it doesn't slip off whatever surface you put it on. The construction seems to be solid to me, and it's nice to look at. The picture quality is pretty good, as long as you make sure your room is properly dark (it does not hold up if the room is lit pretty much at all, the picture instantly starts getting washed out). I haven't noticed any display lag, and it's not blurry and the colors are fine. You can use your own surface and go up to 200 inches of "screen" if you want, though I think for my environment I've settled on a distance where I'm getting about 90 inches. One slight annoyance I've had is that the IR sensor is really good at picking up signals from the remote if you aim it at the screen but it can be pretty iffy if you're not (I have had some TVs in the past where they pick up the signal if the remote is just generally in the same room and doesn't have the tip buried in a blanket so having to actually aim it is a bit of an adjustment for me). The onboard speakers have about the same quality and volume as you'd expect from a TV, but you can add your own sound system if that bothers you (for example, the HDMI port does have ARC). Overall, I really like this projector. It's been pretty popular for doing things like movie nights with friends, and I've also liked having it set up in my room to watch things before bed. I personally would maybe not game on it, but I do like the HDMI port being there so I can connect a BluRay player. If you're looking to add a theater room to your home or just want a big screen for a dark room, I'd say this a pretty good pick.

If you are looking for a family projector that won't break the bank and is easy to use, check out this Vankyo. Here is my quick summary of it: the Vankyo Leisure 570RB is a budget 1080p smart projector with built‑in Roku TV, auto‑focus, auto‑keystone, wireless casting, and a surprisingly full feature set for its price. Its biggest strengths are native Full HD, Roku streaming, Dolby Audio, and easy setup. Its biggest weaknesses are low brightness (280 lumens) and limited contrast, meaning it performs best only in dark rooms. We enjoy family night movies and always used our TV however I always wanted to have an outside movie experience. So all I had to do was set up the provided 100 inch foldable screen (nice gesture!), plug in the projector and you are set. We had a few cook outs and as soon as it gets dark, I would fire up this projector, get the kids popcorn and start the fun. This projector does a great job with auto focusing and auto keystone adjustments. I am pretty familiar with Roku TV and this projector has it built in. So all your favorite apps are readily available through Roku: Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video and hundreds of other apps. I found the remote to be easy to use as well and you get fast navigation and reliable updates come in handy. Audio is OK, its dual 5W speakers with Dolby Audio sound loud enough in a room, and for outside I use a soundbar that plugs in the HDMI of the projector. If you have a Bluetooth speaker, you can always pair it with the projector as well that way you can bypass the HDMI cable. I also enjoy gaming on this projector. Its native 1080P is great for any game I threw at it, so you really don't need a 4K resolution. Remember, this is a budget friendly projector, and it does well for what it is. Give it a try and you will find yourself enjoying movies in a new way.

I picked up this projector to be able to use it on the go for travel tv, or quick movie night on the deck. This is a budget friendly projector that us reasonably bright to see in an average lit room, but is better if a few lights off. What sold me on this is the bult in roku os. That is my preferred streaming device format, and that is what I had to add to my full size projector in my basement. I have a short throw projector with another streaming platform built in, and I still add a roku to it because it performs better. The os layout is simple, and easy to modify. This projector is also likely going to replace my pico small cube projector i travel with for presentations. The setup was easy on this, just plug in, logged into roku and it pulled in the bulk of my passwords. The picture is crisp, smooth. 100 inches this does easily, claim 40 to 200 “, I have no place to go larger. Has an av input, hdmi, and 3.5mm out. The sound is adequate, much like a standard tv, easy for the voluke to fill an average room. I am quite pleased with this projector and do reccomend it to others. No deductions that I can take stars from it for.

I was genuinely impressed by how easy this projector was to get up and running. Since I already had Roku devices and an existing Roku account, the setup process felt almost effortless. Within minutes I was signed in, my streaming apps were ready to go, and I was watching content without having to jump through multiple setup screens. The included 100-inch projector screen is a great addition that makes it feel like a complete home theater package right out of the box. Be prepared to mount the screen to a flat wall with the included adhesive hooks, similar to command strips. The projector also features native 1080p resolution, auto focus, and automatic keystone correction, which help make setup even more straightforward. It gives you basic input options so connecting devices will be straightforward. As you set it up the projector does auto correct to ensure focus and keystone correction is dialed in, in the event there is some manual intervention using the remote is also easy enough. What surprised me the most was the overall performance for the price. The image was noticeably brighter than I expected, producing a vibrant picture in a dim room, and the built-in speakers delivered plenty of volume with clear, crisp audio. I never felt like external speakers were a necessity for casual movie nights or streaming TV. Considering everything included in the kit, this projector offers outstanding value. If you're looking for an affordable way to create a big-screen experience without spending a fortune, this package delivers far more than its price tag would suggest. I even powered it up with a portable power station and this device consumes approx. 39 watts so depending on the size of your power station could give you hours of viewing. We do have a self standing projector screen we set up for outdoor viewing and couldn’t easly find a way to benefit from the included 100” screen. The screen comes folded like a no fitted bed sheet and when hung up does improve the overall picture quality vs a flat white wall. We will be using this primarily for outdoor viewing activities.

Forget buying one of those big screen TV' that need stand or expensive wall mounts. This Vankyo Leisure 570RB Roku projector is an all in one perfect solution. It's the same as having a portable Large Screen smart TV. Small enough and light weight with auto focus with an included cloth white screen. It also comes with a small basic remoge control. Setup was fairly easy and quick. I say fairly easy because there's no keyboard so I had to use the small remote to connect it to the network. The white, clothe projector screen that is include is not the best quality and it is tricky to set up but for traveling is good enough. I use a white wall at home which works just as good. Connecting to my network was fast and easy about 10 mins using the little remote. The speakers are not as strong as I wish but no projector under $500 has top rates speaker. It has touch sensitive controls on top that light up when operating and go off so it has a smoth, clean look. It is very light so I placed it on a 3 foot tripod. My only gripe with this projector worth mentioning is the lack of physical focus/zoom buttons or knobs. The auto focus mames up for it, the included limited manual has useful instructions for correct ostance placement for the screen size. This is my new portable smart TV. It has a USB and HDMI input ports. My laptop is connected to HDMI port.

For a projector in this range it’s surprisingly better than you would expect. Setup is like any other Roku Tv login using a code through your phone or using the remote itself, install whatever streaming apps you use etc. Then it’s off the the races. When you turn it on, it takes a few seconds to project a pattern on the wall or projector screen your using and uses that projection to work its autofocus. Once it decides it’s in focus which takes only a few seconds it finishes its boot up and dumps you into the Roku Tv Home Screen. From here it’s basically just a Roku tv. With the benefits and drawbacks that that comes with. Personally I could do without all the advertising, but that’s how you get a 50” tv or in this case a projector that can do 100” or more at such a deal of a price. So I’m not going to know a point off for that. Where this little project earns bonus points is Vankyo’s decision to include a 100” projector screen in the box. Mind you, it’s nothing amazing, just a clean nice foldable cloth projector screen and some command strip like hanging hooks to hang it on a wall, but it’s a great inclusion that makes this an amazing first projector for those who want to setup their own theatre experience.

This is the third projector that I have gotten and I must say this is by far the best. Granted, this has far better technology as the others were a little older. I use this to project from my laptop streaming services while we go camping and I must say it has been a hit w/ the other campers. I also now use it to watch sporting events in our basement and this is so much clearer than any I have ever had. This was very easy to connect to my computer by HDMI cable and we had it up in running in no time at all. I love all the streaming services that are included to w/ this Vankyo 570RB projector. I really like the remote control that makes controlling this projector so much easier to use. It is very well made and so much easier to adjust the clarity of the projector on the screen. This projector comes w/ everything that you need to set up and use this amazing projector. One thing I will say about this projector that is different from the other two that I had is this one seems so much lighter than those. I really like this projector and I highly recommend it

I was looking for an inexpensive projector to have movie night in my backyard for our grandkids and this one came along. I have not heard of the brand, but "every box" was checked so I gave it a try I brought this home and unboxed immediately. Everything went perfectly, nothing was damaged, and all parts were included I decided to set this up in the living room first before I took it to the back yard at night. Since it included a screen, I set that up first...super simple Next powered up the projector and connected it to my home network - quick and easy Since it has native apps installed, I chose Netflix and entered my login and we were instantly streaming I dimmed the room and closed the drapes to give this a try 200 lumens is plenty to watch in a dim or dark room. I would just not expect it to work well in full sunlight The internet connection streamed fine with no lag or delays And the sound through the Dolby 5W speakers were more than enough to be immersed in the movie Lastly, with a full 1080P image, it was a perfect scenario The following night the grandkids visited and we put this to work outside under the stars!

The Vankyo 570 was a decent enough of a projector that has quite a few things to offer. The picture quality was very good although you would need to have to be in a dark environment to be able to fully enjoy the picture quality. It came with a large screen that you can hang on the wall but I couldn't quite get it to hang fully flat and tight so ended up just projecting onto my wall. I love the auto keystone and focus where I can just set it on a table and plug it in. What was annoying was that when initially setting it up, I was in a countinuous loop where the Vankyo was connecting to my wifi and searching for software updates. I was about to give up and call it a dud but not sure what buttons I was randomly punching and restarting the unit that I was finally able to enter in the set up mode that had me set up my Roku account. Once that was done, the projector worked like a charm. I like the Roku TV capability of the projector since it gives me flexibility to watch streamed shows other than what Prime and Netflix included apps allows. The available HDMI connection worked well with my laptop although I wished the Vankyo would come with a HDMI cable. What would have also made the Vankyo better is if it had better sound quality. You can get it to play loud enough sound by cranking it up but since it is a compact projector, the stereo and Dolby sound that it is capable of wasn't really noticeable since the speakers are so closed to each other and being rear projecting. It may be worthwhile to invest in a bluetooth soundbar to get bett sound.
