Various Artists - Cedar Chest: The Cedar Walton Songbook - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Cedar Walton's amazing technical prowess and impeccable taste at the keyboard sometimes masks the fact that he is one of the most respected and recorded of Jazz composers. His works exhibit a seemingly endless reserve of ideas presented in a coherent, logical manner. As with any composer of merit, Cedar intended his compositions to be interpreted by others and this compilation affords the listener the rare opportunity of hearing genius commenting on genius. Featuring recordings by Houston Person, Larry Coryell, David 'Fathead' Newman, Mark Murphy and others.
