The baroque orchestra L'arpa festante shows how much wonderful music was created in the German High Baroque in world premiere recordings the orchestra presents four cantatas by composers from Central Germany. While the Dresden court kapellmeister Heinichen and the Thomaskantor Kuhnau were well-known personalities and are gradually being rediscovered today, Christian August Jacobi and Ernst Nicolaus Thaur are completely unknown. Their music is nevertheless of remarkably high quality!
