The Animals Formed In Newcastle-Upon-Tyne During 1963, Their Original Line-Up Comprising Eric Burdon (Vocals), Alan Price (Keyboards), Hilton Valentine (Guitar), Bryan InchChasInch Chandler (Bass), And John Steel (Drums). Like Their Rivals On The UK's Early 60s Blues/R&B Circuit - I.E. The Stones, The Yardbirds, Them, Etc - The Animals Pretty Much Wore Their Hearts On Their Sleeves When It Came To Paying Homage To Their Heroes. Their Live Sets Drew On The Recorded Works Of Jimmy Reed, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Fats Domino, Etc., While Burdon Was Further Inspired By The Singing Of Men Like Big Joe Turner, Nappy Brown And The Mighty Ray Charles.
