Brazilian and Cuban music left an imprint on her work as well as tours and album productions with jazz legend Sheila Jordan - born in 1928! Laia Genc lives and works in Germany; she is part of Cologne's rich music scene and performs on stages throughout Europe and the world, both with her own projects and as side-woman. A soulful sound painter, improviser, composer and arranger, she gives many projects a special color of her very own, combining jazz, free improvisation and a lot of musical charm for an unmistakable sound. Her extended piano techniques give Laia the liberty to exhaustively explore the boundaries between composed structures and improvisational freedom.
