Vater Percussion offers the Vinnie Colaiuta Signature Drumsticks, a pair of hickory implements developed for versatile performance in both studio and live environments. These sticks feature an acorn-shaped wood tip designed to produce a defined tonal response on cymbals and drumheads. The design incorporates a medium taper for consistent rebound and a specific contoured grip that flares between .590 inches and .600 inches to facilitate a secure hold. Measuring 15.93 inches in length with a diameter of .595 inches, these sticks are engineered to provide a balance of volume and durability that accommodates a variety of musical genres. Cataloged under manufacturer part number VHVCW, this signature model is crafted to maintain structural integrity and uniform balance for timekeeping applications.
Engineered in collaboration with Vinnie Colaiuta, these sticks reflect specific weight, taper, and balance requirements tailored for professional session and performance work. This signature design ensures a consistent, functional tool for drummers who require a precise tactile feel, reflecting the specific technical standards established during the collaborative development process for live and studio use.
Fabricated from high-density hickory, these sticks provide the natural resilience and shock absorption necessary for consistent performance in both studio and live environments. This material choice supports structural integrity through repeated percussive impacts, ensuring the sticks maintain their form and performance characteristics throughout extended gigging or rigorous practice sessions.
Designed with acorn-shaped wood tips to produce a full-bodied, articulate sound on cymbals and drumheads. This tip shape provides the tonal clarity suitable for diverse applications, ranging from nuanced jazz passages to high-volume rock playing. The geometry of the tip is specifically calibrated to offer a defined attack while preserving the natural resonance of the drum and cymbal surfaces.
Features a diameter that subtly flares from .590 inches to .600 inches before returning to the base diameter, creating a tailored tactile feel. This ergonomic contouring is intended to enhance grip security during performance. By balancing the weight distribution through this subtle flare, the design provides a comfortable hold that supports control during complex technical passages.
Calibrated with a medium-length taper that provides a reliable, quick rebound, allowing drummers to maintain speed and control during rapid play. Measures 15.93 inches in length with a .595-inch diameter, positioning these sticks between traditional 5A and 5B sizing. This specific dimensioning offers a balance of volume, agility, and consistent feedback for the percussionist.
