Vater Percussion offers the Wire Tap Wood Brushes, a pair of fixed-wire implements designed for percussionists requiring a solid tactile feel and consistent articulation. These brushes feature a hard-surface Wire Tap insert positioned behind the wire spread to enhance strike clarity and reduce surface wear on drumheads. The handles are constructed from wood with a 5A-diameter profile, providing a familiar ergonomic grip for drummers. A metal rivet is integrated into the butt end of each handle to facilitate cymbal scrapes and expanded rhythmic textures. Cataloged under manufacturer part number VWTW, these non-retractable brushes are engineered for durability and reliable performance in both studio and live environments.
Features a reinforced, hard-surface insert positioned directly behind the wire brush spread, specifically designed to provide a more articulate strike feel and sonic response. This design element improves the impact consistency of the brushes on the drumhead, ensuring that percussionists can achieve a clear, solid sound that is distinct from standard brush models during performance and practice.
Engineered as a non-retractable wire brush set, providing a consistent, rigid base that ensures the wire fan maintains its shape throughout extended playing sessions. This fixed design promotes long-term durability and reliable performance, ensuring the brush spread remains steady and accurate. It is an ideal choice for drummers who prefer a consistent tool that does not require mechanical adjustment.
Crafted with a wooden handle featuring a standard 5A diameter, ensuring a familiar tactile feel that allows for an intuitive transition between traditional sticks and brushes. This ergonomic profile is designed to provide stability and control, helping to reduce hand fatigue during long rehearsals. The handle construction offers the necessary weight and balance for reliable timekeeping and dynamic play.
Equipped with a dedicated metal rivet at the butt end of each handle, allowing percussionists to execute clean, consistent cymbal scrapes and percussive textures. This feature expands the creative range of the brushes, making them a versatile tool for diverse musical genres. The inclusion of the rivet supports additional rhythmic exploration while maintaining the overall balance of the handle.
The integrated Wire Tap mechanism acts as a protective barrier, reducing mechanical friction and stress on both the wire bristles and drumhead surfaces during intensive play. By minimizing wear and tear, this design helps extend the lifespan of your drumheads and the brushes themselves. It provides a functional advantage for drummers seeking to maintain their equipment in top condition over time.
