A: This TV will work fine for Local Channels....honestly I bought this TV to replace a previous Roku TV in the same location and using the same antenna...and it seems to have even better reception to pick up local channels Local Channels: in order to get local channels they are broadcasted by your local stations.... It is a digital signal so it will come in mostly HD ...the thing to realize is the signal is still a radio signal as such u can use basic rabbit ears connected to the coaxial connection on the back , if the station is within about 15miles or less you won't need a powered antenna that plugs into the wall ....but if you are further or want a greater variety of channels get a powered antenna as you can adjust the power to have different stations available
