This is a wonderful phone for my 105 year old mom who lives in an assisted living facility and is hard of hearing and has macular degeneration and cannot see anything immediately in front of her. I programmed all the eight top keys with my phone number, and I put raised stickers of flowers on those keys so that she could feel the difference between those keys and the keys with the numbers on them. So all she has to do is press any of those raised keys by feeling for them, and the phone automatically calls me. If she doesn’t pick up the handset before pressing those one of those keys, the phone automatically goes to speaker phone. It is very loud. She does have to pick up the handset and put it down again in order to hang up the phone. The accompanying cordless phone has a display which is needed to program those 8 keys at the top of the corded phone. This phone is a godsend for my mom and me. We can talk to each other by phone again!

I purchased this phone for my mother who is 89, hard of hearing and has loss of eyesight. It did take me a while to program. I had to watch a you tube video as instructions weren’t that great. That’s the reason for 4 stars. Buttons are nice and big, and volume can be set very high. I think she will have trouble playing back answering machine until she memorizes those buttons as they are small. I wish cards were included to wright names on and place where pictures would go. I used hot pink sticky notes. I placed the handset by her chair and purchased an additional handset and placed by her bed.

Purchased as a gift for elderly relative. The positive is that the volume can be turned up louder than most phones and that it works with a hearing aid. The only negative is that the phone can be too complicated for some elderly people. I think a simple design would be better for many seniors. I think too many options can complicate the phone. Also this product has one corded phone and one cordless phone. The cordless does not have the memory buttons with pictures just the m1, m2, m3 m4 with no place to label. (picture option for pre-programming numbers for speed dial)
