I recently purchased the VTech Audio Baby Monitor (2-Unit) in White, hoping for a reliable way to monitor my baby's room while I was in other areas of the house. Unfortunately, the experience was not as I had hoped, and I ended up returning the product. First, let me say that the design of the monitor is quite sleek and modern, fitting well with the décor of our home. The white color made it easy to blend with the rest of our nursery furniture. The size of the parent unit was also convenient, making it portable and easy to carry around. However, the main issue I encountered with this baby monitor was that it kept disconnecting. The signal would often drop, leaving me worried and anxious about my baby's safety. This, of course, defeats the purpose of having a baby monitor in the first place. I tried repositioning the units, thinking that it might have been a signal interference issue, but the problem persisted. In addition to the connectivity issues, I also found the audio quality to be subpar. The sound was often unclear, making it difficult to distinguish between background noise and my baby's cries. As a parent, I need to trust that the baby monitor I choose will provide me with clear audio so that I can quickly respond to my baby's needs. In the end, I decided to return the Baby Monitor because it did not meet my expectations in terms of reliability and audio quality. The frequent disconnections and poor sound quality left me feeling uneasy and stressed, which is not what I want in a baby monitor. If you're in the market for a baby monitor, I would suggest looking into alternative options that offer better connectivity and audio quality. In my experience, the VTech Audio Baby Monitor did not live up to the standards I required for monitoring my baby's safety and well-being.

I bought this in 2017. I contacted customer service shortly after I bought this monitor. When I turn off the unit with a fully charged battery, the battery goes dead after 3 days. This is with no use of the monitor in that time period. I called VTech and they sent me a new battery and told me that if that didn't fix the problem, they would send me another unit. The new battery didn't fix the problem. When I called back, the next customer service agent said that they would not send me another unit because it's NORMAL for all batteries to go dead like that. I asked him if his cell phone battery or car battery goes dead after 3 days without use. He had no answer for that and told me he was done with my request and promise made by the earlier customer service rep. He then he ended the phone call. That was the last VTech product I ever bought.

You buy such a product and then you find out that it doesn't work with 240V! If you travel outside of the USA, you basically cannot use it. Electronics products that one can travel with are usually made to operate on 110V-240V inputs, but NOT this one! Moreover, that's NOT even part of the specifications both on the website and on their documentation in the box! Giving it 1 star because that's a huge miss - in terms of both usability and proper communication/specs to the customer.

This purchase was the replace a broken baby monitor. The monitor we replaced was identical and lasted less than 2 years.

First of all I think that Best Buy is a great place to shop and their customer service is excellent. I can't say the same for Vtech however. I bought this DM221 monitor for $30 on 3/14/2017. From the onset I had problems with the battery going dead when the unit was totally shut off for 4 - 5 days. I made the mistake of dealing with Vtech customer service instead of Best Buy. On my first phone call to Vtech customer service, Vtech told me that the battery should not discharge when the monitor is shut off for prolonged periods of time. I use this monitor about once a week. Vtech customer service sent me a replacement battery and said that if the battery didn't fix the problem, they would send me a replacement DM221 unit. Well the battery didn't fix the issue and I called Vtech again today 5/30/2017. Today Vtech's story changed and I was told that it is NORMAL for a fully charged battery to go dead in 4-5 days with the unit totally shut off. The unit obviously has an internal current draw. I'm sure that a diode in the battery circuit would solve the issue, but that diode costs a couple of pennies. If it is NORMAL for the battery to go dead with the unit shut off, then why did they send me a replacement battery to begin with to attempt to fix a NORMAL condition? Now that the 30 day return period for Best Buy is over, I suppose that I'm stuck with this defective unit. Bottom line: If you don't mind charging the battery every few days even when the unit is totally shut off, then this DM221 is for you. As for me, I'm buying another brand monitor from Best Buy.

The device failed after a week. The monitor kept unpairing untill my wife finally made my buy a new one. We bought the Phillips equivalent.
