I have two of these. They are a bargain, but.. . I like NEVER having to worry about space available. I have had good luck with Western Digital drives. Seagate drives, by comparison, are much less reliable. This new purchase behaves differently than the apparently identical drive I already have. The new one is much noisier. It also takes much longer to ‘wake up’ and respond. It seems to go inactive more, though supposedly this is controlled by the computer. Different hardware inside the plastic housing? Seems likely. Well, 4 stars seems about right for this,

Pretty good value for what I paid for it. Refuse to buy anything but WD external drives anymore. Have 6 or 7 total. Haven’t had any issues with WD but Seagates have failed. The WD My Book drives seem rather rugged, solid and well built.

Great storage device. Portable, nice size.

Lots of storage for things you need to save from your PC. The only little annoyance from this is the power brick. (But makes sense since it’s a lot of storage)

I got this for my boyfriend for Christmas, he’s a photographer/ videographer so he definitely needed this. He absolutely loves it! He says WD has awesome products.

Easy setup. Expect to use it as primary external hard drive to drive info used in docent encounters. It is working flawlessly.

I have used Western Digital hard drives of various types, shapes and sizes over the years with good results, aside from where a drive got dropped. I thus bought this drive as a larger backup, it works fine when it comes to accessing the files I transferred to this drive and I can transfer the files to another drive no problem, but trying to transfer files to it now it says "drive is dirty" error copying file ....Now it's only a backup of the data stored on the drive and can't add anything else to it even though it's only about half full and so it's literally just a back up drive of the files on the drive and can't be modified and running a disk check on it does nothing to change the fact it's basically "read only" and I have had to back up this back up in case it stops functioning altogether, not sure it's worth the hassle of reformatting it to see if that fixes anything and I went with some large Seagate drives to replace this. Until this, I've never had a drive end up becoming basically read only, only allowing files to be accessed but no new files added and no files allowed to be deleted. Pretty strange,

Plenty of storage! Worked straight out of the box! No issues.

Drives come preformatted to exfat as they should with software preloaded. I have used many MyBook drives over the years and they are all excellent external hard drives and deliver the excellent reliability and functionality. You will not be disappointed with any WD MyBook.

I use this as backup to my plex server and it delivers. Transfer speeds are more than adequate so no complaints.

Great hard drive from a trusted brand. The price for this for the capacity is great too. I trust Western Digital and not really any other brand with all my backups.

WD-My Book, I love it for backing all Photo of our family. sunrise & sunsets, this is our 4th book. Everyone should have one.

It's a fairly fast HD, considering how big the memory capacity is, No issues with this unit so far.

Easy setup and was able to transfer 4 Tb of data without any issues.

Excellent little hard drive with just the amount of TB space i needed to make more room on my computer.
