I have used a Wilson Electronics phone booster in my car in the past with great success, so a whole-home system seems like the next logical step. At home, our cell phones are the only phones used as we do not have a landline in place. I live in a rural area with OK signal (1-2 bars on my iPhone 8+), but had been experiencing randomly dropped calls and occasional inability to make calls despite signal registering on my phone. The system consists of the booster itself, an indoor antenna, and an outdoor antenna. Professional install was included with my device purchase and I would not want to do this DIY. It isn’t complicated per se, but I am not technical enough to have known where the cell tower is broadcasting from and inevitably had I done DIY, I would have crossed the antenna streams which would cause the device not to work. The booster and the indoor antenna need to be mounted within a specific proximity of one another typically in the same room. The outdoor antenna requires mounting at the highest point of your house but below the roof and facing away from the indoor antenna. Since having the device professionally installed, I am no longer dropping calls and have not had any issues with failed outbound calls. I have had to power cycle the booster a few times because its signal strength seems to vary, but I consistently get at least one green light on the booster. I have been using it for a week now. At best when first installed, I saw a full four bars of signal on my phone, but more consistently I see two bars and an occasional 3 bars. For this reason I am rating it 4* rather than 5. Had it consistently kept my signal at a full 4 bars or even boosted it consistently to 3 bars, I would give it 5 stars. This can vary based on your geographic location so someone else might experience something different than me. Regardless of how you measure signal on your phone though, I have no more dropped calls! I highly recommend this product!

Then cellular signal in my area has never really been great and we have had Verizon, AT&T and are currently using T-Mobile. We have been given signal boosters by two cell providers that we had plugged into outlets in the house and connected them to Wi-Fi, but none have really worked that great at significantly improving the signal out to the end of our property or in the basement. I ordered this hoping that it would fix my problem and after having used it for just over three days, it has fixed half of my problem. The distance has significantly increased. I can go to the end of my yard and onto my neighbor's property and still have a strong signal. However, I have seen no changes in my signal in the basement. This was a little disappointing because that's where the man cave is. The surprising thing is that there are two towers within two miles of my house. According to the installers, the one that is closer is actually a weaker signal. So they connected it to the furthest tower. They did tell me that if I switch providers that the booster will need to be tweaked because it is set to a specific network, which kind of surprised me, but wasn't a big deal since we have no immediate intentions on switching at the moment. I downloaded an app from my app store that I could use to test the speed of my mobile downloads and ran tests prior to the installation and after. In the two photos, you can see a significant increase in download/upload speeds once the booster was installed. The installers that came to my house were great. I had already looked online to determine where I needed to install the interior receiver and antenna and had prepped the space, but was hoping that I could possibly install everything in my garage. Fortunately, they were able to do that. I took some pictures of the equipment and where they were installed. I had an old satellite dish that I was no longer using and told them they could install it on that pole if they wanted to, which they did. I didn't want to have more holes drilled or another unsightly pole installed on my house. All in all, I am happy that the signal is stronger on the main parts of the house and the improved distance that I get outside. I'm a little disappointed that the signal hasn't increased at all in the basement. This is why I gave it four stars instead of three, but I would still recommend this unit as it does significantly boost your cell signal.

About weBoost Home Complete The weBoost Home Complete by Wilson Electronics is a signal booster for cell phones. It is designed to take a cellular signal from the exterior of your home, bring it inside, and then amplify it. The idea for this product is that you can use an external antenna pointed in the direction of your provider’s tower to find a weak or mid-level signal and then bring it inside to where you need it. What It Comes With In the box you will find an external antenna, a power supply box, a signal repeater, and some mounting hardware. What is not included is coaxial cable to connect the antenna and boxes or an arm mount for mounting to the roof. These items were supplied by my installer. The antenna for the weBoost is similar in concept to an external UHF antenna. Mount it outside to get the best signal and carry it in by coaxial cable. Once inside the cable runs to a power box and then back out to the repeater. The repeater looks like a speaker, but functions similar to a WiFi access point or router. The Installation The installation is difficult. I consider it the equivalent of installing a satellite dish and a router at the same time. My installation was performed by a professional service that was prepaid with the product. All that I had to do was go online to schedule my appointment and use the code inside the box. Installing the product including mounting the antenna to my roof eave with a satellite arm. Coaxial cable took the signal into my attic and down to my IT closet where the power box was placed. You need a regular wall outlet to plug the power box into. From there another coaxial cable was run to the signal repeater which I had mounted to the wall in a central area of my home. Once everything was installed, it worked automatically. There were no codes or passwords. It just produced the signal. Does It Work? The reason that I was interested in this product was that I barely had any cell phone signal inside my house. I would have 1 bar of service and my phone would constantly lose the little bit of signal I had, dropping the call. Also, I would not receive some incoming calls. Suddenly, I would just have a voicemail. This product has changed that. I have generally added 2 bars of signal to what I would normally get. On the more technical side, I was getting -119dB prior to the installation. After it was installed I was getting -93dB. That’s a big increase. For reference, the maximum allowed signal is -72dB per the FCC. Important Things to Know 1) The exterior antenna is directional, so the installer will need to point it in the direction of the tower. Sometimes this is hard to determine, and the installer may have a special tool for this. 2) If you have no cell phone signal at all, this may not help you. There needs to be a signal to “boost” in order to benefit from this product. 3) Mountings for the power box and signal repeater could be better. There are plastic mounting pieces that the boxes slide onto. This means that you can only mount it one way vertically. If you mount it horizontally, they could potentially slide left or right depending on the installation. I could see someone knocking a horizontal mount off the wall. Also, the plug into the power box on my product comes out easily. Overall, I am very pleased with what this product has accomplished. I haven’t dropped a call since I have installed it. I’m giving the weBoost Home Complete 4 stars. The install is pretty involved, and there were a couple of product design issues that could be corrected (loose power plug & the plastic mounts). Otherwise, this product has done what it said it would, and it has helped me stay connected.

My home office is in the basement of a newer suburban subdivision and while I have never had a problem getting A signal for AT&T or Verizon, I'm constantly getting 1-2 bars on both carriers. Looking at a Booster solution as a 'nice to have' as opposed to an essential purchase I decided to take the plunge because I'm working from home (he justified). Package arrived and in the top of the box there was a card with a 7 digit code needed to redeem for the included installation. The process seemed straight forward enough, but when I went to sign up for an OnTech account register the code the scheduling system didn't give me any available dates to schedule. I called the 800# and talked with a scheduling specialist who was working from home due to COVID-19 (Super nice guy BTW) who wasn't able to help me because when he tried to enter the code to schedule in his system it came back as redeemed. He directed me to WeBoost customer care who was also super nice / working from home, but apparently this is a new product and they didn't have much experience with the process. Fortunately, I have a lot of time on my hands so I didn't mind the wait, and they were extremely professional with actual call backs and follow-ups. 5 stars! I ended up getting a new code and calling back to OnTech to schedule the appointment that was available next day! Installers arrived with gloves and I gave them a couple masks to wear. The installers day job was installing satellite dishes, and if you're wondering about the installation process...it's the same. There's now an antenna on my roof, pointed at the carrier I chose (AT&T) and a cable running down my roofline and down my water spout. Guys....talk over your purchase decision with your spouses before signing up! The first attempt at indoor antenna placement was in the utility room where the cables come into the house and the power supply was already going to be mounted. Sitting in my office roughly 50 feet away I didn't discern any noticeable increase in signal, but as I walked towards the antenna the signal increased significantly. The star deducted is simply due to the fact that the indoor antenna just isn't that strong. Because the area I was hoping to improve was in my office they suggested placing in there. I already had a cable hookup that I wasn't using so it was a pretty simple process. Results: My AT&T phones went from fluctuating from 1-2 bars to 3-4 bars with the antenna placed on a shelf 5 feet behind where I sit at my computer. Noticeable! When I place my phone next to the antenna the signal is off the charts! I'm sure there are regulations as to how powerful the repeater can be, but man it's crazy how much signal is lost in such a short distance. Despite being pointed at an AT&T tower my Verizon hotspot also shows significant signal increase. Bonus! Pictures show the dBm rating at and the difference is pretty amazing. I threw some speed test results in there too, but I'd be leery of putting too much faith into tests like that because they were done an hour apart, and a lot of factors can be different. Conclusion: If you're struggling to get any service in your house and there are no amazing alternatives with strong fiber or cable internet providers to provide a VOIP solution, then this might be a great option for you! If you're like me and you get an OK signal but are just annoyed that it's not a GREAT signal then this is a 'nice to have'. If you're looking to spend that stimulus check and support a local installation company - go for it! I can't say that it's going to be a life changing purchase, but maybe it will save you a little aggravation.

This is review of signal booster consisting of 3 main pieces of hardware that according to product info broadcast up to 7,500 sq f+ installation service that comes with the brand. First the problem I have: at house size of about 2,800 sq f, I have service with T-Mobile and closest tower is about 3 1/4 miles away, and very often had non consistency signal strength leading to dropping call. This is strictly in the context of Voice call context and not data service. Previous to installation: had around 1 or 2 bars, I guess average 2 bars. After Installation: It increase average 1 bar more based on 2 hours usage experience, and vary as walk around home between first floor and second floor. Installation detail: Inside Antenna and Booster were installed at first floor, at wall between living room and backyard. Outside Antenna installed at roof pointing to the cell tower. For this first installer gather carrier information and closest tower location that later point to the same direction. Then cable toward inside home to look for best place to install booster and inside antenna. On one hand, this has to do with installers partners with the brand, and they were acceptably diligent to go through every step and make sure it is being installed as should be and still be good for me. The total time took about close to hours. After installation: 1. Signal Strength: as mentioned above, it increased about one bar in average in short time of usage, in some area less or same as before, in another spot of house had full bar, but isn't consistent one straight fashion across home. I was told it has to factor in how stable is the signal from the tower as well. At backyard where was having 1 or 2 bars, didn't impact at all. 2. Hardware: outdoor antenna is light, indoor antenna feels to blend in well at wall except of the cable, and booster as well. Downsides 1. The booster power outlet doesn't look to hold firm as upon touching slightly loosen and power off. 2. For inside antenna, it didn't come a bracket to install at corner of house, due to this as didn't have one had to install on the flat side of the wall. 3.Although it is pure hardware solution and can be checked with signal bars, it doesn't provide app to check its connection for receiving input to output. In final conclusion: before having it I expected the booster would provide reliable and consistent signal inside home. But based on short time usage leading to conclude it is good to have as support for just incase and not being dependent on wifi calling if internet connection suffer or any reason. But not to think of it as 100% reliable for consistency at anytime.

Overall— the booster actually works and slightly improved my signal. According to the tech I had a -100 ish dB reading around my home (readings from back yard, front yard, side yard, & living room). After install I had about -92 dB inside my home. With that said, I think I have slightly improved reception at home since I haven’t been able to notice any static on the line. Nor have I heard the other party ask me to repeat myself because they couldn’t hear me. Didn’t see much in terms of data. Pros— it actually works. Setup is quite simple, if you know how to use power tools you can install it. Although, unless you know exactly where your networks towers are around your area you may still need a tech. Lastly, equipment isn’t very bulky or unsightly. Cons— it’s very expensive. (In my case) the improvement isn’t worth the cost. Adds another unsightly antenna to your roof. Conclusion— this is one of those types of products where ymmv (your mileage may vary) will certainly apply. In my opinion, if you are considering purchasing a booster, first, contact a tech and have your area scanned. Pinpoint your nearest network tower either though your tech or contacting your wireless carrier, although in the latter case it’s possible that they won’t tell you.

The water tower up the street from our home needed routine maintenance and painting and the cellular antennas were removed. As a result, the cellular reception in our home dropped to 1 bar. We often had trouble hearing callers, calls were dropped, and text messaged would sometimes be delayed for hours. The antennas could not be replaced because there was a change in the building codes that required reinforcement of the footers under the water tower. The weBoost antenna increased the 4G signal strength in our home from 1 bar to 3 bars (sufficient to enable good audio connections and drop-free calls). The technician performing the installation (included in the cost of the system) was excellent and was able to locate the best remaining cell tower near our home and amplify the signal to permit reliable cell service inside. The system does require a small horizontal roof-top antenna, coaxial cable to the indoor booster (close to an existing power outlet), and coaxial cable to the indoor antenna. The installer can make cable runs hidden in attic, crawl space, or in-wall. The indoor antenna can be wall-mounted or placed on a table using the built-in “kick stand”.

I have Sprint as my carrier because I'm grandfathered into a really cheap family plan with Unlimited Plan, but the downside is that I'm pretty much guaranteed low signal in some areas even though I'm in the Greater Metro DC Area. Even at my home which is just 10 miles outside of DC, I get 2-3 bars and roughly 15Mbps download on 4G LTE. I jumped at the chance to use the weBoost hoping to get 100Mbps or more that I can get in areas closer to Sprint towers. The overall set-up process with weBoost is amazing, white glove treatment and super easy. Wilson contracts with OnTech which is a contractor that does all kinds of tech home installs. They are usually available within 2-3 days of when you request an appointment, and the included code on the weBoost kit means you pay nothing for the installation. Great so far! Unfortunately, the fact they use contractors means they are using instructions and don't have a ton of experience with this specific installation. They do smart cameras, mesh networks, Dish TV installs, and the weBoost is just one more unicorn install they deal with. The first tech that came out didn't seem like he had done one before and was in contact a lot with his home base and install documentation. Needless to say, the first visit didn't end particularly well, I actually got worse performance with the weBoost than without for Downloads from around 18Mbps to around 5Mbps. Upload speeds increased a to 15Mbps, but no one wants to pay $1K for a downgrade in some areas and upgrade in others. I contacted weBoost and they were great, went through a bunch of questions and asked me to send them pics. They came to the conclusion the installation was not done correctly and told me to call OnTech to schedule another appointment to fix it. Again, pretty seamless experience, 2nd tech showed up in PPE on time within the window and he moved the booster unit away from the outside Antenna saying there was interference if they were too close. The green lights on the unit itself this time went to 4 bars, and while the actual performance from my phone using speedtest wasn't an improvement, it wasn't worse. Another really interesting observation was that the 2nd Tech had an Android phone and had MUCH better results with the weBoost connected than without. My wife and I both have iPhone Xs and we both got much better (2-3x) results with the weBoost Disconnected. So odd. The first installer hung the outside antenna on the garage eave instead of higher up on the 2nd story of the house. I suggested moving the outside antenna multiple times but the 2nd tech didn't seem to want to do that. Bottom line, if you are already getting decent Wireless signal to your home I don't think I would recommend this unit. If you are in the middle of nowhere, it may be worth looking into as the difference between watching Netflix or not. Overall the experience was good, I'm glad I got to try it, but based off of my results I could not recommend this to someone in a similar situation in the suburbs, with good, but not great signal. If you're in rural areas where you have clear lines of sight to the nearest tower with no interference, it could make a big difference for you.

I unfortunately live in a cell signal dead zone and this brought it back to life. Before I would generally get 1 bar, and sometimes even no signal. Calls would drop if I could even make them, texts would fail...it was such a pain. Guests would always have to get on the wifi because cell signal here was so poor. I did read prior to installation that if you have a poor signal, it may not even help, but figured I would give it a try. After install, I pretty much get 2 or 3 bars, calls rarely drop, and I can even use phone apps when the wifi is turned off. So, yeah, not a miracle product, but it is working well so far. The installers were great and they were able to place the various units in locations that we don't even notice them. Wires were run cleanly, and it only took about two hours. For the price, it was well worth it for me. I will say that sending and receiving texts with pics is much faster and more reliable, calls work, and I don't even notice the hardware. There are no apps or logins, it just works in the background with no beeps or dings!! Great product!! I felt like I was destined to never get a cell signal, but alas, weBoost has come to the rescue

We live in a very remote area, down in a valley so cell phone service and internet has always been an issue. Once the WeBoost was installed, we did gain 1-2 bars so I did give it a four star rating. If you have a chance to get professional installation for this device, I would definitely recommend it as they did a much better job of installing it properly than we had on another one. The instructions are plain enough, but you need to know where your towers are and you need to make sure you don't cross the antennae with the booster path for optimum performance. The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is because they claim to improve "the Wi-Fi and cellular network speed" and while it does boost the signal strength, I don't think it increases the speed. Also, it is supposed to work up to 7500 sq. ft. but the signal was only boosted one bar in a space that was only 2 rooms away. It's still worth the increased performance, and I assume homes or offices with more line-of-sight availability to cell phone towers will perform much better.

I think it's important to start off immediately that you must look into where your closest cell phone tower is relative to your home. Please look into using the suggested apps by WeBoost themselves at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKc_yVT26Xo The Apps listed are OpenSignal, LTE Speed Coverage Map and Network Cell Info Lite. I personally used OpenSignal as it was the first on the list and it did exactly what I needed it to. To find the closest tower with the best possible line of sight, and figure out the best way to mount the antenna. Now, this package does include professional installation. So the real work is on their technicians. But if this is going to require a pole to be installed, possibly electrical work in order to accomodate the power requirements if the location it needs to be in does not have any outlet close, etc. Then you're are definitely going to want to know prior to pulling the trigger on this. This is not a deal breaker, it likely doesn't apply to everyone considering this product. But I feel it's absolutely necessary to know prior to diving into this project. I gave this 4 stars not because of anything wrong with this product. It's fantastic and does exactly what it advertises. But your mileage may vary only due to unknown variables that some may not consider prior to making this purchase. If you have done your due diligence and require a desperately needed signal booster, you're looking at the right item.

The weBoost - Booster Kit - White/Gray/Black offers cellular signal gains even in hard to use locations for any of the big service providers. Without the use of Wi-Fi, which is very questionable at times depending upon our local internet provider, our cell service is questionable at best, usually producing 1 bar of LTE - not enough to do much with anything using data. We had to get a Microcell / Internet Range extender for our company Verizon just to get data services in the house and to ensure our calls did not drop. We had the weBoost Kit installed by professionals and the pro was awesome! He was knowledgeable and helpful. Before the installation, which took about 1.5 hours, the signal was the usual 1 LTE bar. After the install, we received 3 bars LTE and the data actually worked. Speed tests showed about 13 Mbps d/l and 9 Mbps u/l for reference. Our biggest issue, and only reason for 4 stars is that the weBoost antenna is not omni-directional - it is very linear. It only boosts in line-sight, not the traditional Wi-Fi bubble most people are used too. This can be troublesome for those wanting this product installed in a certain room or location. It will need to be installed in location that can be pointed towards the direction you want covered most. Stand behind it and basically nothing. PROS - Does what is says - Increases and Boosts cell signals! - Universal for most cell services - just point the outside antenna toward the right tower and you are ready to go. - Professional installation is worth it and insures quality! - Increase signals in hard to access buildings or outdoor locations, from 1 to full bars in full LTE and 5G signals where available. - Quality product and build. CONS - Linear (line of sight) directional antenna - limits where it can be effectively placed or mounted
