Both the unit I received and the installation were provided at no charge as a test unit. As of the date of this review, the weBoost Home Complete cell signal booster kit is the top-of-the-line kit that the company provides for consumer, fixed use. While this unit is definitely on the expensive side, it can provide significantly increased coverage if the internal antenna is located correctly. Keep in mind that current units such as this one will boost all bands -- including 5G-LTE, the modified LTE band -- but will not provide bona fide 5G service. For this unit, you do have to have professional installation included. This was provided by the great folks over at OnTech, which is actually the same team that works for DISH Network -- and they arrive in said branded vans. The gentleman who performed my install was as professional as could be expected, so I'm not going to spend more time on that aspect. He listened to how I wanted to have the outside antenna installed and provided some great tips. The weBoost Home Complete cell signal booster comes with three main parts: the outside antenna, the booster itself (which does get pretty warm as it's being used), and the inside antenna. A picture is included of the final installation for the outdoor antenna. It must be pointed in the general direction of the closest cell tower to provide any sort of service. As you can see, it is a relatively unobtrusive addition to the outside, and will work with most HoA-controlled neighborhoods as well. In our instance, since we are no longer using satellite TV (we're now 100% streaming), our tech was able to use the coaxial cable that had already been wired into the house for this device (something I had planned on as we were about to get the unit). In all honesty, since our tech was pretty meticulous at his job, I wouldn't have had any issues if holes would have been drilled to deal with wiring, but that wasn't a part of this install. The internal antenna was set up in an enclosed closet for convenience reasons. Our tech went over the technical specifications of distancing for both antennas and how to keep oscillation from happening (which is basically a signal feedback loop that can cause significant interference if not handled properly, something this unit handles by virtue of the LED indicators on the booster itself -- it won't boost a signal if it detects an oscillation). To be perfectly honest, if you're comfortable with a drill, ladder, and terminating coaxial cables, there's not really a reason why this couldn't be a DIY-based project, even though weBoost doesn't support that situation with this product. The fact that you must register this device with your wireless carrier is likely part of the reason -- having professional installation is the way that weBoost can effectively guarantee (as it were) that they're in line with FCC regulations (weBoost includes instructions on how to do this in the box). What were the results? For our 4,000-square foot house, it definitely boosted our signal -- from a typical one or two bars up to a full five. However, because of the way our internal antenna is set up, and since we do have a decent number of walls/obstructions throughout the house, we can get a good four bars throughout the house, with five typically downstairs. If we were to place the antenna somewhere out in the open, it's likely that our whole-home signaling would likely increase. Also, in testing this over a few days post install, I've noticed that our phones might "roam" between the existing tower and our booster "tower," thereby contributing to fluctuating signal ranges from time to time -- that's something built into the way that all cell phones work. Keep that in mind as you're reviewing any sort of signal booster to buy. Our cell tower signals are relatively decent to begin with; I suspect that if you have almost no signaling, you might "stick" with higher signals from the booster more often. This scenario was tested by putting the device into Airplane mode (turning off cellular) and then turning it back on. When doing this, we always got a very strong signal from the booster until the signal algorithms kick in, attempting to find the best signal (don't fault weBoost for that). To sum up, the installation was great and the product does work -- assuming you understand what your present cellular situation is now and can make a best-guess as to whether this device is right for you. The price is steep, but this is a pretty powerful unit. Yet for those in more rural areas with next to no cellular reception, this could be exactly what you need for solid signaling.

I chose this product because I have a house built in the 60's that gets poor indoor signal reception from my service provider. I'm constantly dropping calls or having audio problems (can you hear me now?), and I was hoping to resolve that issue specifically. I received my WeBoost and went onto the website indicated in the package to schedule an install. The process was simple and I was able to schedule an installer for the same day. I received a call before arrival and they were on time (or a little early). They walked around the property to determine the direction of the nearest tower for my cell service, to determine where to mount the antenna (a medium-size fin on an arm that attaches to your eaves). The signal repeater, which must be installed inside, runs cable to both antennas and requires a standard outlet. The installers were very professional and helpful in working with me to find a suitable location to install the interior equipment, and accommodated my requests as best they could. I would describe the installation experience as similar to or better than that of a standard satellite or cable TV install. The product itself does what it says it does. I went from 0-1 bars of service in my house to a minimum of three depending on location. The service you receive outside your house will now be the service you receive inside your house. It does not "boost" your signal otherwise. If your outdoor signal is poor, this device will not improve it. For my part, I've spent the past week using it and haven't had any problems with my calls, which I consider a vast improvement. I'd recommend this to anyone having problems with their indoor cell reception.

I had the weBoost Home Complete cell signal booster installed in my home and had an immediate increase from two to four (the max) bars on my cell phone in my home (AT&T). The process to have the signal booster was easy - as it is installed by a professional. This is not something you can do on your own. I was able to call and get an appointment easily with a 2 hour window. The appointment did last nearly 4 hours as the installation process can be tricky. The technician has to locate your cell phone provider towers and the booster has to go in a direction to/from those towers. There are two parts that need to be installed - one part goes in your house and one is outside on your roof (similar to a dish but smaller). The part that is installed inside the house had to be near our cable box and was run through our attic and down the wall. The technician did a great job with installation and we saw an immediate improvement in service as soon as installation was complete.

Would I buy this again? I just did. Lightning hit the antenna and we immediately lost internet. I don’t have fiberoptic, cable, or even DSL in my area, and my 4G LTE signal is one bar, or a measly 1-4 Mbps on fast.com outside the home. I took a chance and bought a booster, stringing the outdoor antenna on an old satellite dish. It worked fine until lightning hit, giving us 2-3 bars inside the home with 9 Mbps on average. That is good enough for youtube. Then lightning hit… I upgraded to the Home Complete (which is not offered right now) and was delighted to see a better signal in our main room. No, it doesn’t cover several rooms. It does cover the hallway and main room, though, and truly gives a better signal for internet and calls. Since lightning hit again (major damage across the home), I have to replace it again. This time I am going to add the maximum battery backup I can (they recommend over 1000Joules) to protect it.

We struggled with cell phone service being out in the middle of nowhere country AND a metal roof. We had to go outside to get a call, sometime get a signal by one of our windows. With 4 teenagers... that wasn't cutting it. So I did research and read about WeBoost. We were desperate. I went to Best Buy and got the complete home system because I knew I would not have a clue on how to install it. Well worth the $200 difference. I bought it on a Wednesday and they installed it on Friday. We went from no service or little service to literally 3 or 4 bars! This has been a huge blessing especially since I work from home. Our whole house feels connected to the world again LOL.

The weBoost Complete home installation kit is pretty impressive. To give you an idea of what I am dealing with, I do have cell service in my house. I live in the suburbs, in an area that is growing in population, however, the area still seems to be a dead zone for some things. Cell service is hit or miss, depending on your provider of course. T-Mobile is a Washington company, and it is my service provider. They are not the fastest, and their coverage is not always first place. In my residence, I get anywhere between one and two bars on my phone. Plus I am getting just under 50 mbps download speed for my mobile internet on my phone. Those are the basics for my set up. The weBoost device is not small, and it needs to be professionally installed. You will see in some of the other reviews, that there is a fairly significant antenna that needs to be installed outside, and they run a line the wall and into the location where you want the indoor components installed. There are three basic components to the system: 1. The outside directional antenna (already mentioned it) 2. The inside panel antenna 3. Home Complete (Brains) 4. Installation instructions The Home Complete is a little smaller than an X-Box. It makes no noise, but has a fairly bright light. Make sure you have the installer place it where you want it to live forever, or at least give you some extra wiring so you can move it around if you need to. I installed mine in the Livingroom and it is hidden behind a piece of furniture. Out of sight, out of mind. The panel antenna is different, as it needs to broadcast the signal and should be in a location to maximize that benefit. Mine is on the fireplace mantle, but I may move it later. The indoor antenna is fairly large and I am trying to find a way to disguise it somehow. I mentioned the instructions for the installation? That is because when you purchase this item the install was free. My install was fulfilled by Dish Network and the process to reserve the install date was done all online with a code provided in the box. Very easy and the installer was awesome. Very COVID-19 friendly, and the install looks very clean and professional. So the results? Full bars on my phone and the mobile internet speed jumped from the low 50’s (mbps) to 67+ mbps. A fairly significant increase right? But the full bars is what is important. Do I need this in my house? It can be argued either way. But this would be a great tool for someone living out in a fairly remote location. Given the fact that this product works with any provider it gives everyone the option for their home. Not everyone needs it. But if you do it is a resource available to you and one that I can say with confidence that it works.

The weBoost - Booster Kit drastically improved the cellular reception in my home. The cellular reception in my home was low to moderate prior having the weBoost - Booster Kit installed. Now, I have remarkable signal strength throughout my home. Even the lower level, which traditionally was a dead zone without Wi-Fi calling. You'll want to have the unit professionally installed to ensure optimized placement of the components, but you'll be glad you did! I am typically on calls throughout the day and it's critical that I have adequate signal strength for call clarity. Thanks to the weBoost - Booster Kit, I don't have to worry. It's such a relief. Prior to the weBoost kit, I would see consistent maximum bandwidth of approximately 20 - 30 Mbps of throughput on my cellular device (iPhone X) without Wi-Fi enabled at the areas of my home with the strongest signal. Now, I get nearly triple that bandwidth! Even areas that had poor reception now have nearly 70Mbps of throughput. I love the design. It's not a large unit and looks great in my home, thanks to the sleek casing. The unit is inconspicuously placed in the corner without drawing attention to itself. It's also quiet. No buzzing, humming or noise of any kind. I'm extremely happy about the weBoost - Booster Kit. I highly recommend this kit for anyone that wants to improve wireless signals in their home/office.

SITUATION: I couldn’t get a good signal on my cell phone in MY OWN house. I was lucky if I got 1 bar. Phone calls I made or received had a delay before they went through. Once connected, I experienced a lot of interference with our voices cutting in and out. 9 times out of 10, I had to walk out on my front porch or lean out the 2nd floor window in the attempt to hear the caller better. Because this was making my life so miserable, I bought a new landline and told my friends and family to call me that way. As we cope with the COVID-19 pandemic, I have been working from home for over five weeks and forced to depend on my cell phone for all work-related phone calls. I can’t tell you how aggravating it has been with such poor cell phone performance due to a weak signal. Getting the weBoost Home Complete was my way to resolve this situation as there was a good chance I would continue to work out of my house for another three months or more. I went for the installation option because there was no way I or my husband would be able to set this up, even after having watched several videos on YouTube. That was the 2nd best decision I made. The 1st one was choosing the weBoost signal booster. BEFORE: It took me less than 10 minutes to set up an appointment and create my OnTech account. As a matter of fact, I was given a slot for the next day. The day of the appointment, I received an email narrowing down the window of arrival for the technician and a phone call when he was on his way. I was able to track his arrival through my OnTech account. The technician spent time figuring out the best outdoor location in relation to the nearest cell tower with an app that gives a dBm signal read. He tried 5 different spots to see where the strongest signal was. What I learned in this process is that the number of bars is not an accurate way to measure cell phone signal strength. Cell phone signals are radio waves that operate within the -50 decibel-milliwatts (dBm) to -120 dBm. The following information is a general assumption: • -50 to -79 dBm is generally considered a great signal • -80 to -89 dBm is generally considered a good signal • -90 to -99 dBm is generally considered an average signal • -100 to -109 dBm is generally considered a poor signal • -110 to -120 dBm is generally considered a very poor signal I’ll give you one guess where mine were measuring–in the dead zone! Our numbers outside were -116, -108, -113. The highest was -106, so that was the location where the antenna was mounted. The technician (William) was very receptive to the request of trying to make the outside antenna as unobtrusive as possible, but would maximize the signal in the rooms we utilized the most. He drilled a hole into the siding and used a silicone weather-sealer after threading the cable through. The outside antenna was set up first, then the inside antenna. We used the kickstand option versus mounting. If we had chosen to have it mounted, it would have been screwed into the wall. (**The box with my weBoost did not contain screws for the mounting plate.) Once the unit was installed, William took time to adjust both antennas until our signal was at the highest it could be. I tested it by making a few phone calls in different rooms in the house. The installation typically takes about 2 hours depending on the cable length and the route to the indoor unit (basement, drop ceiling). AFTER: Once the signal booster was installed, I was getting 3-4 bars in the room with the booster. I got 2-3 bars in the next room. Upstairs in my office, I was able to get 1-2 bars (before it was 0-1). Testing out some calls I immediately noticed faster connection, more voice clarity and less interference with cutting in and out. But the better way to see the improvement is to check the dBm. I have an Android so here is how I find my cell phone’s signal strength: • Tap Settings • Tap About Phone • Tap Status or Network • Tap SIM Status • Your dBm is under Signal strength I was getting -86 dBm by the booster, -100 dBm in the next room, -113 dBm at the other end of the house on the same floor, -110 to -114 dBm upstairs (FYI these numbers fluctuate at any given time). So, what do these numbers mean? A signal increase of just 3dB is two times the power and signal amplification; 6dBm is four times. The real test was making cell phone calls that had noticeable improvement. Going forward, I’ll need to keep an eye on the power unit to make sure all the lights are green. If there is any red, we were advised to unplug the unit and plug it back in to let it reset. We can also move the indoor unit (if it is using the kickstand versus being mounted) if necessary, but that it should be able to stay put where it is. The instructions are brief, easy to read, and offer great information on safety guidelines. Be sure to register your signal booster with your wireless provider. My guess is that you will love this product as much as I do if you cut the cord to a landline and you depend on your cell phone to make calls. If you want a stress-free experience with the weBoost signal booster, then order the installation. You won't regret it.
