Q: Does the freezer get to 0 degrees cold?
A: We had trouble keeping it at zero at first so we put a thermometer in there to track it. As long as we keep the refrigerator & freezer pretty full it will stay around zero. Otherwise, you will see it vary. Overall we love it.

Q: Does this model have an ice maker?
A: Hello Sandy. This Whirlpool® Refrigerator does not come with an Ice Maker but one can be purchased. The part number is W11424126.
A: Why?! Because this brand and especially this model is *garbage*. The condenser on it broke within 17 days. 17 DAYS! I wouldn’t buy Whirlpool, or would I use Best Buy… we went away on the 15th day and returned on the 17th day to $200 of food rot. And they tell us we have to keep this crap & have the shady Whirlpool fix it? What— so we can worry every single time we go away for a few days? Miserable product & experience.
Q: Where is this particular refrigerator manufactured? Are any major parts manufactured in China?
A: When this fridge stopped working after only 7 weeks of operation we were curious about that too. Major parts like the compressor and wiring harness were made in China and the switch was made in Mexico. We suspect that all of the major parts came from China and it was assembled in Mexico. Another hint is that the technician who attempted (but failed) to repair it said that it would take 4-6 weeks to get parts, but with the current problems in China we think it could take as long as 2 full months to get parts. In the meantime, we have no fridge.

Jury’s Still Out...
It’s been in place less than a week. It was ordered online due to lack of availability in store locations near me. Some disappointments stemming from not being able to basically see it and have “touch and feel” ability. I’m still trying to determine if after delivery person’s unpacking the top corners are to have holes exposed. Tape was removed from the left side and I was told when questioning the oddity that “that’s normal and all makes and models. See it’s on the left too”, as he peeled it off that side. It’s also shorter than depicted. Significant bending to reach lower shelf. Crisper leaves something to be desired.

SAVE YOUR MONEY
DO NOT BUY. I had this fridge less than a year before water started leaking from the freezer to the fridge getting all my food wet and ruined. I have thrown away so much produce and other foods because of this. Best Buy has a 15 day return policy so no help there either.
