Bought this fridge after my Amana fridge with bottom freezer bit the dust after 16 Years. I never really liked the bottom freezer as I could not fine anything and the drawer slide stuck so if something fell behind I could not open the drawer far enough to remove it. I decided that I had enough years with a bottom freezer so I decided to go with a side by side. I like the fact that you can see all your food in the fridge and freezer area without much of a problems. There are a few draw backs to this fridge though. First the selves in the fridge it’s self are not adjustable. The top shelf is just tall enough to put a gallon of milk. I have a water pitcher for filtered water and it is to tall to put on any shelf so I have to put it in the door, which is not very convenient. (The door shelves are adjustable ). The other thing is that there is space in back of the shelves that is open and small items can fall down. This space can be a plus if you are trying to fit in leftover containers but you have to be careful what you put in the back of the shelf. The freezer shelves are adjustable to a point but the shelves are slotted and you need to place most things flat . Thin items can fall into the slots. It is also an adjustment going from a fridge with full width to the side by side but we are adjusting. The other thing is that this fridge had a dent in the top of the freezer door when it was unpackaged at the time of delivery. I am still waiting for a replacement to come in ( 2 months and counting). I’ve been told that they are on back order from Whirlpool.

I purchased this Fridge in May as I was updating a 50 year old kitchen. I wanted side by side and I didnt want an ice maker. Hard to find that combination. Whirlpool and Maytag both had similar models. Due to the pandemic, the Maytag was not longer available:( So I got the Whirlpool. Both good reputable brand names. Looks nice , but OMG smudges so easy:(( Im constantly cleaning the doors:(( It works fine. BUT a couple of weeks ago I opened the freeze and saw a crack on the bottom of the freezer ??? WHAT?? I asked my husband if he knew about it, he had no clue, he has dementia:(( OMG. Why is that freezer liner so fragile?????????????? thats insane!! I called Whirlpool and they sent a tech to come out and look at it. He has seen this before he said. :((( He was told to put putty over the crack:(( REALLY. ??? The putty is NOT WHITE and now theres that starring at me everytime I open the FREEZER:((((((((( Brand new freezer, looks like crap... IM so dissappointed in the quality!! I did write to whirlpool no response yet. :(((((((((((((((( We are in our 70's I cant really go out and buy a new fridge now:((((

We have had this refrigerator for over a week now and are very pleased with it. Very quiet when the motor is running. Spacious and the lighting inside is super. Keeps food cold and frozen in both compartments and is a huge energy saver. Well worth the money!

I was pleased to find a side-by-side refrigerator to fit in the limited space I have in my kitchen. I like the see-through glass shelving so I can see which fruits or vegetables I have in the drawers without opening them. Unit is adequately cold without using the highest setting. I love it.

Only have had for a month but love the shelving/layouts of both freezer/fridge. Top refrigerator shelf does freeze some items in way back on ideal chill setting but all stays plenthy chilled on 2nd cool setting.

Our main fridge went out but the problem was getting one to fit under the cabinet in our older home. Found this one and the reviews were good. People said it was noisy, but I don't think it is. Of course our old one was over 30 years old but I never noticed the compressor running on that one either. This one is great, lots of room inside and love the glass shelves!

Right size for my limited space. Very low noise. Excllent lighting

This fridge is just what we were looking for. It is a real pain in the neck finding a refrigerator that doesn't have a build in ice maker that isn't a low end model. The wire shelves in freezer are not optimal and it could use another shelf in the fridge but everything else is just as we wanted.

Convenient side by side but really limited food storage. Hard to fit tall items. Difficult to clean glass shelves if there's a spill lack leaks to back and under shelf bracket. Freezer will build up ice on door - had warranty repair to check cause with little satisfaction. Nice looking profile though. Moves easily to clean side and underneath.

The design is solid and the interior is considerable spacious. However the plastic hinges for the drawers is very fragile and they broke easily, which makes its durability very low. Furthermore, it doesn't included enough glass shelves to store food in an organized manner.

Great refrigerator for the price. I needed one without an ice maker and this was the perfect size. Some other reviews said it was noisy. This one is not noisy at all. You cant even hear when it’s running

The first Whirlpool 21.7 cu. ft. side by side refrigerator was defective (serial #HR91645477), The replacement seems to be good so far. It is a handsome machine with a bright interior. It still is rather loud, but normal, not nearly as loud as the first one which made a sound at times that made us wonder if it would die at any moment. Best Buy was very helpful with replacing the first machine! (I give them 5 stars) The first machine was 0 stars, the second one so far would rate 5 stars IF it continues to work as expected. Time will tell. Yes I would recommend it, but beware. They are not all created 'equal' apparently.

Beautiful refrigerator-spacious, practical and logical layout for easy organization. Very bright and luxurious look inside and out. Keeping temperatures very stable and very noticeably quiet!

-After the service personnel left I noticed that a small chrome piece on the top of the right handle was missing. I called Whirlpool and they sent a replacement handle. -All the delivery people were courteous an helpful. -The only thing I was disappoint with was that the refrigerator was not leveled. I had to do that myself.

This refrigerator works well in our new office. It looks great and has just enough space in the inside for all of the employees to store their lunch. Everyone is pleased in our office

It is almost constantly throwing out a terrible humming. Hard to be in the same room with that noise. The smudging on the stainless steel is very aparent and almost impossible to keep clean.

no icemaker. no water dispenser. that’s what i wanted for my 86 year old mom who likes things simple. not easy to find refrigerators without icemakers or water dispensers nowadays. so happy to find one made by whirlpool, a brand i trust.
