This refrigerator is one of two Energy-star certified refrigerators in a stainless steel finish that Best Buy carries and will fit in my condo. The price is very attractive and I was looking forward to upgrading a rather inefficient refrigerator from the 1990's. The doors are thicker and this model seems very well insulated. I was delighted to find the sides and the front are magnetic too-- a nice plus for a stainless fridge. Best Buy delivered this fridge as scheduled and the two delivery personnel were very friendly, fast, and professional--they plugged it in and slid it into the spot where it fit perfectly--even had a few more inches of room at the top for ventilation compared to the old model. I removed the protective plastic and packing materials and put a thermometer in the fridge; per the instruction manual I waited 24 hours for the fridge to reach it's set temperature as the energy-efficient models run on less wattage. I marveled how quiet it was--I could feel a fan pushing air into the freezer and the light in the fridge was on when the door opened. However a day later the temperature exceeded the ambient temperature in the room--it was 67 degrees in my kitchen but 75 in the fridge! Best Buy dispatched a repair technician--who was another delivery contractor--and just as I had suspected. . . the compressor was dead. I called Best Buy and was transferred to the right person to help me--I was told it would be about 5 weeks before this unit could be replaced. (This was prior to the suspension of appliance delivery due to the COVID-19 pandemic.) I know Best Buy is not responsible for Whirlpool allowing a defective unit to leave the factory but I was taken by surprise how little Best Buy was capable of. I was willing to accept an open box model, display model, an equivalent model from another manufacturer, and suggested they could make arrangements with another local appliance dealer to get me one. As politely as they could, the people in customer service just said, "we can't do that." In summary I've paid Best Buy to deliver a defective fridge and all I've gotten is their word that they will deliver a working one. . . and hopefully it will arrive in two weeks.

They delivered a used refrigerator. It was scratched up. The fan was making loud noises. The manual and parts were not in a bag anymore and loose inside the fridge. Fortunately the delivery guys were fantastic. They handled it really well. They said they would put in an order for an exchange and I wouldn't have to do anything. The refrigerator itself would be perfect if it worked. I like the size and design.

received 1st unit and the doors were reversed for right hand swing. The freezer door does not seal properly and ice frosts every few days so that tenant has to defrost with hair dryer. We ordered a replacement immediately and it was not delivered at all on the day we expected it. I got conflicting messages for 2 different days of delivery but was called at end of day and geek squad was checking to see what the problem was. I have yet to hear the whole story and am waiting for a message. I ordered the unit 10/22/19. delivered 11/5/19. second one was to be 12/5/19 now the third expected 12/24/19. My poor tenant is living with this. I have bought many units from best buy and this is the first time I have had this kind of problem! Is there a reason units are only sent only as they are ordered and there are no spares anywhere on the island? I also would appreciate it if the message left would explain why the second unit was not deliverable... whether it didn't get here at all or was damaged in transit. then I would know not to expect it. instead, I got an email saying it was going to be delivered 12/5 between 12:30 and 2:30pm! My tenant took off from work to receive the unit and I was on stand by as well till 4:30 pm.

I purchase this small fridge for the garage. I scheduled an appountment for someone to change the way the doors openend and they no showed. I calle dseveral time in July and was not able to get through. Now 4 months after we bought this refrigerator the upper freezer is not cold enough to freeze ice cream. I called customer service immediately and they said they could not help me transferred me to the Whirplpool where I sat on hold for 20 minutes and no one answered. Worst experieince with Best Buy and I have made many big purchases.

The temperature control was nonexistent. The freezer would vary in temperature by 30 degrees. Nothing was ever frozen in the freezer, but when I turned the control to the coldest it froze the milk in the refrigerator part. So, all in all do not purchase this machine. On top of all the frustration Whirlpool could not get a technician to my house for 30 days. Very poor customer service. I finally went to Best Buy in person and relayed my woeful experience and they were kind enough to allow me to replace the refrigerator with a GE.

I purchased this fridge brand new from Best Buy less than 2 years ago and it's already starting to give me trouble. The freezer compartment is no longer maintaining cold temperature, it varies between 30 and 40 degrees and can barely freeze water now.

After less than 2 years it stopped cooling. I paid a technician $110 to tell me Freon was leaking and it would cost $700 to repair it so just get a new one. He said they make them cheap to save money. My parent's refrigerator was good for 20 years.

Ended up returning the fridge after the second one was just as bad as the first. Bad quality and wouldn’t get cold enough in the refrigerator section. Didn’t expect that lack of quality construction from Whirlpool.

Upon checking one day after delivery on 5/16 The refrigerator has damaged inside and lots of gooey stuff sides and bottom part I called bestbuy and did text chat with one of the geek squad team and he was nice to order new fridge for exchange And return the current one I feel frustrated because I was told that my scheduled appointment for 6/13 has been canceled due to my fridge is not available for delivery I was checking on line and found same model :WRT134TFDB. SKU: 1118214 is available at Beaverton bestbuy for delivery by July 1st ! We love Best Buy but we need our refrigerator Thank you

After buying this fridge a little over a year ago (warranty period), the freezer stopped working. Repair person saw this issue before with this model and recommended I buy another brand because it's not feasible to fix this model long term. The fridge will keep leaking gas and it will need repair monthly. I suggest getting a different brand.

We just got this fridge delivered two days ago, and we put a fridge thermometer inside, as well as a cup of water. Running on "Medium cool", the fridge reached 45F, while empty (haven't the time to fill it up yet). We reduced the temperature to "MAX cool" and after not opening it the whole night, the lowest temperature it reached was 40F. To make sure food does not develop harmful bacteria, any fridge HAS TO be able to keep the temperature to below 39F, ideally, between 34F and 37F. We also tested the temperature by measuring the temperature of water in the cup we placed in the fridge and it was the same temperature (we used a food thermometer), which is an unsafe temperature. This fridge cannot keep food safe, so we will have to return it. (I wonder how many people have a dangerous fridge in their kitchen and don't even know it).

I can't believe no one here complained about the noise. There's a continuous vibrating noise when the compressor runs. This is noisier than my old 15 year refrigerator. Whirlpool said the vibrating noise is normal. How can this be normal? Thank goodness this is for my parents who have hearing problems. Compressor runs frequently like every time I opened the frig.
