Freezer is freezing up & leaking water into fridge. Tech serviced my fridge on Dec. 9, 2020. Got it delivered on Dec. 1, 2020. Tech said it's environmental, nothing is wrong and open my freezer and fridge at mininal. And to put my food in containers to prevent damage to my food. Is it normal to keep a bowl in my refridge or to clean up the water leak every few hours for the life of my refridge ? Few hours after tech left. It started to leak again.(pictured) Schedule another appointment on line with whirlpool and called repair company , _______ said I need to cancel my appointment because ‐------- said its environmental and they wont come back. I get an email saying my appointment has been cancelled. Called whirlpool and they told me the same and find out the repair co. Has cancelled my appointment This is a replacement fridge, first one gave the same problem 3 times. I cant understand with my first fridge the tech came 3 times and now they'll only come once for my replacement. when it's the exact same problem. Purchased my first fridge in Sept. 2019 and it's been a nightmare. I've lost so much food and wages from taking off from work to for repair appointments, going back and forth the store and making phone calls, that take forever at times. Does that mean the repair company milked whirlpool with my first refridge on the 2nd and 3 rd servce call ? I called geek squad which is my extended warranty to make an appointment. I know have an appointment for Saturday, December 12, 2020. Let's see what happens. I did go to my local best buy store and ‐---- told him what is going on and said he'll get back to me with a phone call by the end if the day, he didn't I also left a message for the supervisor to call me on Dec 11, 2020 being he was off , so far I'm still waiting.

Refrigerator works just fine and is pretty roomy. The issue is with the poor installation on the ice maker. It is unusable. It leaks all over. The ice tray fills with water and freezes what cubes are made into an ice block. It also creates mini glaciers in the back of the freezer. Product is fine. The installation I paid for is improperly done. I contacted Best Buy, spoke with a representative who was supposed to come out and hasn't, I also had damage done to the entry way to the kitchen.

Do not purchase this! Year and a half, stopped working. Tossed out much more food than what the warranty “Total Tech”, I purchased will cover. Also, the meat tray didn’t last a week. The plastic is worse than dollar store quality. Speaking of the Total Tech, the call center is not helpful, the reps speak in circles. Service call over a week ago. The tech sent parts to my house, knowing the compressor most likely is going!! It’s totally dead! Letting everyone know I have severe medical issues, need a fridge for meds, etc, still waiting for a call back from manager for 2 days, which won’t happen, thanks but no thanks to Louis. Next service call available was booked out over 2 weeks. Which will result in another service call for more parts or not sure if the unit will be replaced. When I bought the warranty, “Total Tech” told if any issues we will just replace the unit. Sure, when the red tape is exhausted and everything is in the trash! Very disappointed, not satisfied at all.

Ours is less than 2 years old and the seal on the freezer door is unrepairable. The technician tried to install a new seal but it won’t stay in the plastic groove. With a 4.4 rating I expected no issues but, I’m told, it can’t be fixed which makes it unusable!

Bought this fridge in August 2022 and in January 2024 started having problems with the fridge freezing up, causing the vents between the fridge and freezer to become solid ice and the fridge to get warm... luckily bought the geek squad extended warantee... tech came out 3 times to repair... last repair replaced the whole temp control system, and less than a week later, it was doing the same thing again. Now, I'm looking into a replacement since it can't be fixed. So much food was thrown out due to spoilage from the inconsistent temp. Beware when buying this fridge, and if you do, then get the extended warranty!!!!

Fridge delivered July 9th 2022. July 18 2022 the fridge is not cold, freezer is frozen over. No help from Best Buy service. Very disappointed doesn’t even cover how I feel.

I am writing this review to express my absolute dismay and frustration with Whirlpool appliances, especially their refrigerators. Since purchasing a Whirlpool refrigerator in December 2018, my wife and I have been plagued with an endless series of problems, culminating in a shocking incident that nearly poisoned us. From the outset, our Whirlpool refrigerator seemed to have a mind of its own. It began with small issues like inconsistent temperature control and an obnoxious buzzing sound. We brushed these off initially, thinking they were just minor quirks that could be resolved. Oh, how wrong we were. Recently, our refrigerator suddenly stopped working altogether, leaving us in a state of panic. The food inside turned bad, emitting a putrid odor that filled our kitchen. To our horror, we discovered that some of the food had become contaminated, posing a serious health risk to both my wife and me. The sheer negligence displayed by Whirlpool in creating a product that endangers the health of its users is simply unforgivable. Hoping to find a swift resolution, we promptly contacted Whirlpool's customer service. However, their response was nothing short of abysmal. Despite detailing the urgency and severity of the situation, they displayed a shocking lack of concern. The representative we spoke to seemed disinterested, offering nothing more than vague apologies and empty promises of "looking into the matter." Their lack of urgency and unwillingness to take immediate action left us feeling utterly helpless. To make matters worse, after waiting for what felt like an eternity, it became apparent that Whirlpool was not going to rectify the situation. It became painfully clear that we had no choice but to discard the refrigerator entirely, rendering it nothing more than a costly, oversized paperweight. The financial burden of replacing such a critical appliance is a burden that we should not have had to bear. This nightmarish experience has left a sour taste in my mouth, and I can confidently say that I will never purchase another Whirlpool appliance again. The poor quality, abysmal customer service, and utter disregard for our well-being have shattered any remaining faith I had in this brand. Whirlpool, once a reputable name in the industry, has now become synonymous with disappointment and regret. In conclusion, if you value your money, your time, and your health, I implore you to stay far away from Whirlpool appliances, particularly their refrigerators. Save yourself the anguish, frustration, and potential health risks that my wife and I have endured. Trust me when I say that there are countless other brands out there that offer superior products and customer service, ones that won't leave you with a toxic mess and an empty wallet.

After owning a Frigidaire refrigerator for almost 20 years, we needed to purchase another. We decided on this Whirlpool model due to the similar capacity, the misleading high star ratings of this model, the perceived value of the sale price and, what we thought, was a reputable brand. Almost immediately, we were very disappointed overall and had Buyer's remorse with our investment. First, the lack of the adjustability options of the shelving in all compartments left a lot to be desired compared to our old model. Second, although this maybe a minor complaint, there is no light in the freezer. Lastly, the most important negative factor is that there was an annoying, intolerable loud vibrating buzzing noise from this refrigerator that seemed to be running much more than what we were used to. We gave this a couple of weeks to see if maybe the refrigerator compressor had to break in or even if we could get live with noise. After two weeks of what we referred to as mental torture, we decided that dealing with noise was unacceptable. I called Whirlpool and they sent out an "independent" dealer repair service company who told us that this is "normal"? with today's models and the compressors that are installed. We were at our wits end with this explanation. Thank goodness, we contacted Best Buy and we were advised that, being Totaltech Members, we were eligible for 60 day satisfaction guaranteed protection. We are now in the process of exchanging this Whirlpool model for a Frigidaire refrigerator with the hope that the brand that was so reliable before will still give us much satisfaction going forward. Lesson learned here was to notice the number of Poor ratings and how many consumers referred to same issue related to the issues that we have experienced.

The gasket seal is damaged. It does not stay cold. I have had this since last year in June waiting on it to be replaced. I can't keep my food cold when I cook a big meal and try to store it. I have to constantly try to keep things out of the refrigerator and put them in the freezer to keep the fridge cold. It will stay cold if you have some milk, eggs, butter and cheese in it, and maybe a few cokes, and carrots in the drawer, and some condiments in the door, but that is about all you can keep in it without it warming up past 40 degrees. If you keep it open longer than 1 second it warms up to 45-60. It's frustrating. When we go to the grocery and come home to put stuff in it, we have to pray it will cool off within 2 hours. I have to put the meat in the freezer so the fridge can cool off, and then not forget to take it back out to put it in the fridge so we can cook it the next day. Also on month 14 the digital temperature control and light went out. When they came to deliver the last refrigerator, which by the way was broken, I asked if they could fix it. But he couldn't. They keep sending me a broken or scratched refrigerators. I don't want to accept it. I just want a good refrigerator that stays cool and not a scratched up or broken one, or with loose gaskets. I am going to try the GE. Hopefully they will bring it to me and it won't have scratches on it, or be banged up or broken. This will be the 5th one. I'm embarassed. And I pray it keeps our food cold.

Bought this less than 3 years ago and the freezer is already out. Gets cold but not enought to freeze. Stay away from the product.

Horrible fridge/freezer and horrible experience with Best Buy and whirlpool. We bought 3 of these fridge/freezers, one for our main house, one for the garage and one for the finished rental basement. None work! 15 days after buying one of the freezers didn’t feel that cold, everything slowly started thawing. We called Best Buy they said too bad call whirlpool you didn’t buy a warranty with us and only 10 days to return. Called whirlpool and they came out and said it’s because it’s in the garage and left. That I could understand. Went inside and both other freezers were starting to dethaw. In fully lived in indoor settings. That’s ridiculous! What’s the point of having a fridge and freezer if you need to run your indoor heat super high to work it! We don’t drop our heat lower than 68. Now we are stuck with 3 fridge/freezers that won’t stay cold enough to freeze food. We loved Best Buy and we loved whirlpool but now second guessing both companies that won’t stand behind 15 day owned fridge/freezers that don’t stay cold.

So far we have tried 5 of these Refrigerators. Scheduling for the 6th today. They are all coming damaged from Whirlpool factory. We have them come packaged to the house so we can see if anything is wrong before it comes into the house and all have been dented or scratched. Best Buy delivery team has been great through out this process. the scheduling has been a night mare.

I am very disappointed with this purchase. I recieved the refrigerator 5/6/2020 and the doors were not assembled correctly so they sent me a new one. I recieved the 2nd refrigerator about a week later. Well the new one worked for maybe a week and then stopped cooling. Causing me to lose ALL of my groceries I had just bought. About $200 worth of food! Couldnt get ahold of anyone on the phone and the appliance manager at the west Saginaw location in lansing NEVER got back with me after multiple attempts of going into the store. So after 15 days they told me I could not return or exchange without using my geek squad protection or go through whirlpool. So now here i am almost 3 months and my refrigerator still does not work. I have been a loyal best buy costumer for 9 years now. I will NEVER buy another appliance from best buy!

After 5.5 hours this thing was not down to 40 degrees so I put it up to the highest setting. It was still not down to 40 when I went to bed so I put ice in it. It ran for two days straight and finally started to shut off. The inside of the refrigerator was around 32 degrees. I put it down again and the temp rose to 45 degrees at which point I put it back up. In addition to this, the nastiest high pitched sound was coming out of it when it was running. I could hear it upstairs it was so bad. It was a bit like torture to have to listen to it from the kitchen when cooking. Day 2 I requested this to be returned and ordered an LG.

This was quite awful. We requested for the doors to be reversed. After doors were reversed, there were areas where the seal of the doors didn't seal fully against the fridge/freezer and the cold air was leaking out. Thus this led to condensation and water and the potential of mold. We had the fridge replaced and the second fridge did the same thing due to us wanting the doors reversed. Unfortunately we had to come to the acceptance and conclusion that reversing the doors is not a good idea even though the manufacturer says it can be done. Due to manufacturer factory construction the seal is the way it is, and sets after it's been installed at factory. It's unfortunate that a new seal couldn't be included for fridges that need door reversing. Ultimately we returned the fridge due to it leaking cold air because the seal wasn't tight enough around the doors. The worst thing is that bestbuy couldn't find the receipt that we paid for new water lines (we paid separately when the delivery people came), and thus couldn't refund us. Luckily we paid for it with our credit card and gave bestbuy the water lines back when we returned the fridge and asked our credit card to reverse the charges on the water line.

Very disappointed in this purchase! Refrigerator door handle broke off and was laying on the floor the next morning. Upon examining the freezer door handle it was also cracked. Cheap plastic handles!

# 1 complaint: This refrigerator runs constantly, it makes a high pitched buzzing sound all the time, never stops plus there's a gurgling sound that never stops. #2: One of the vegetable drawers does not close all the way. #3: This fridge came with a cosmetic blemish on the upper right hand side of the fridge that is in the shape of a flag flying in the wind. #4: Don't buy a Monochromatic finish: It smears terribly no matter what direction you wash it in. It's a TERRIBLE choice. I am exchanging it for an upgraded Whirlpool side-by-side with an ice maker. I hope I am not disappointed.

I have had 2 fridges installed. First one they had to come back to switch the handles. It was damaged near the freezer handle & also a few other imperfections the installer noticed. The second one delivered also had to have guys come back to switch handles. After they left noticed holes on top were not covered where the hinge was removed and fridge door didn’t seem right(too easy to open). When finally got a guy to come out he found that the insulating rubber had a slit in it. The holes on top were not plugged. Now I have to wait til Best Buy can order a new on which am told won’t come til September or October! This has been a very bad experience for me to say the least! Once the new one comes will then have to worry about that one not being right.

A lightweight, badly engineered piece of junk. Bought because it was the only top freezer I could find which would fit. No way to stop opening door from hitting adjacent sliding door. No light in freezer. Pull out bins cannot be stopped from coming all the way out. Makes ice very slowly.

I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance! Three years after purchase, the compressor broke down but it was covered by a limited warranty for up to five years according to the documents it came with. After 3 attempts to call Whirlpool and being placed on “hold” for at least 20 minutes each time, I was still unable to get connected to a local authorized repair company. With another call to Whirlpool and a 30-minute wait, someone finally answered and gave me the name and numbers of 2 repair companies. But when I called them, they said they needed a repair ticket number from Whirlpool and I need to call Whirlpool back because they themselves have difficulty communicating with Whirlpool. Rather. Than deal with the headaches, we opted to purchase another fridge. And that’s just what we think Whirlpool wanted us to do so that they don’t need to honor their warranty.
