Pros and cons for this model: Pros: 1. The stainless steel finish tends to match other non-Whirlpool kitchen products. The fridge doesn’t necessarily look out-of-place when placed with other brands. 2. Decent price and seemingly frequently on sale although I had to wait until Black Friday to get the best price. 3. Best Buy seemed to offer the best extended warranty program. My previous refrigerator lasted 20 years; all signs point to more recent refrigerator offerings not lasting as long, especially in lieu of digital controls over old-school knob controls. Out of all the available offerings as well as all the competition, I went with the manufacturer, retailer and warranty program that pointed to getting the most mileage out of a big-ticket appliance. Best Buy's offerings had the best that I could find, all things considered. Appliances Manager Levi offered some great assistance as well as fielding twenty questions about everything imaginable, so "Hat's Off!" to great customer assistance at the point of sale. 4. Handles are installed by a setscrew in a recess hole. The obvious discipline is to lubricate both recess and threads of the Allen (hex key) screws before the handle installation to ensure any future removal, if necessary. Some manufacturers and models are not as user-friendly as this one. Cons: 1. If the buyer has to remove the doors in order to get it into the house, be prepared for a challenge. The owner’s manual showed the incorrect screws to remove at the top hinges. The bottom has water connection hoses and brackets that you may need to photograph in order to make sure reconnection is done properly. Even the guys in the YouTube video about removing the doors on this exact same model complained about the lack of proper engineering behind this door application. Be prepared if you, too, have to remove the doors. Add to that screws on the bottom of the skids in the shipping assembly have to be removed. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to have two people when unpacking this refrigerator as it has to be tipped up and get as much weight off the bottom in order to remove the plastic skids. 2. Other manufacturers and models had better space accommodations in the freezer department around the top where the ice maker is located. Some space is wasted for accommodating the front of the ice maker where other models have an additional shelf for food storage. 3. No cantilever shelves in the refrigerator for user-designated, at-will shelf height. Whirlpool shelves—at least on this model—are all fixed-height. They do offer an additional crisper drawer, which is nice. It would be nicer to have multiple built-in cantilever brackets and shelves, especially around holiday times where some larger food items like turkeys can be better accommodated for the time being. After the larger items are used, shelf heights can be quickly restored to previous levels. It would be easy for Whirlpool to reconfigure and add cantilever shelves and shelf brackets. 4. Kinda weird temperature control. The best end-user discipline for getting the most mileage out of an appliance is to set the temp controls where the refrigerator keeps food at optimum storage temps while not making it work too hard to do so. Out of the five available settings for each compartment, my freezer temp is set at the lowest level and the temp still bottoms out at zero degrees. On the other hand, the refrigerator temp control is set at level 3 and the temp stays about 32 to 33 degrees.; i.e., not cold enough to freeze but easily cold enough to keep milk and food at least up to an expiration date without going bad. While those temps at that level aren't bad, it would appear that the controls and system for the refrigerator compartment have to work harder to keep the best temp. It would be better if the end-user could set BOTH compartment levels at the lowest setting(s) and still get the desired temps for both the best (and longest) possible food storage while making it possible for the refrigerator to not work as hard to get those temps. The less the refrigerator has to work, the longer it would last.

Overall, the refrigerator is very sleek and I have found the unit to be very quiet and holding temperature. My one complaint is that the refrigerator side lighting seems very dim. I’m trying to research but the model did not come with an upper light shield which I’m not sure it should have but is definitely limiting light flow on the upper shelves and to the left side

Looks nice works great in cooling food .. had to have the 1st one replaced due to the ice machine not working. The second one is working fine, but still in doubt if it will have the same problem. And missing the can soda holder.

I payed for this refrigerator in June and read the reviews AFTER purchase and started to have regrets before it arrived at my house. To my surprise it looked Great inside/out and wasnt noisy and the water doesn't drip out after usage like some people are saying. The right door handle sits slightly higher than the left- is the only thing i didnt like, but the Geek Squad said as you put more items in the door it should align up perfectly. We'll See

In general after 3 weeks it works properly no Big issues as I read on some reviews before: no noisy and not moving when u open the doors. Only issue is: the water drops after use the water dispenser. It is normal some drops due the dispenser system and the tray it suppose it is to collect that water drops. But in this model the water dispenser is in front and ice dispenser on the back the water drops fall on the border of the tray. So the drops jumps to the floor or slide down on the door. We use a lot the water dispenser so we must be cleaning the water drops from the floor or door which is annoying!!! Other than than no more issues

I’ve had Whirlpool appliances in the three homes that I’ve owned. I’ve had to replace a microwave on the first, the ice maker quit working after a year, on the second one the French door refrigerator parts seemed cheaply made, but it survived all of the power outages in PR so that is big plus for me. Now, this refrigerator looks elegant and has plenty of room for at least a family of 4. My only complaint with this refrigerator is that the ice maker is noisy. At night with the TV on you can hear the ice cubes dropping into the bucket and the water squirting to make fresh new cubes. This is why I’m giving it 4 stars other than that it is a very nice refrigerator.

Good fingerprint resistance on stainless, fridge water dispenser has a separate button for water and easy to use. Ice has been slow to make but its still new... Happy with the frameless shelves too. Great size and value, and fully trust Whirlpool compared to the other mfrs out there - bought this for the bar after the GE died after 7 years. Was happy with the Whirlpool in the kitchen so we went with Whirlpool again. Unfortunately the installers didn't level it and worse they left a big ding in the door - but calling Best buy to have the door replaced was very easy, they also offered a healthy credit if we'd just live with it but the dent was too big to ignore. Watch the installers the whole time they are moving things even if it feels creepy to you. But great fridge!

Works fine. the doors are not even, one handle is just about one quarter inch out of alignment so that is something people can see. Otherwise I like this refrigerator.

Plenty of room. Ice maker makes plenty of ice and drinking water is filtered and tastes good. Nice adjustable shelves with adequate drawers for fruit and veggies. Only fault is the door swings all the way to the right when opened and jars to a stop when hinge hits it’s limits. Door won’t dtay in one position swings all way open

We’ve had it for about six months. It does the job, nothing fancy. The install may have gone wrong. One door seems higher than the other. Unless that’s the way it’s supposed to be and other customers notice the same? The right refrigerator door swing all the way open and fast when we open it. That’s annoying.

Whirlpool always adds a very good value, and it did for this product as well. Refrigerator is spacious enough that we dont use the left door often as it all fits in right and have a cool option of water filter + Ice cubes tap which makes your life easier. Freezing is fast and double door adds great look to my kitchen.

I have had this whirlpool refrigerator and microwave for a month. I like the whirlpool brand. I also bought the whirlpool over the range microwave. So far I am pleased with both appliances. When my dishwasher breaks I will get a whirlpool dishwasher too!

Great fridge! The right door swings very wide though and slams into our pantry door so we have to be aware of that. Great delivery and helpful staff. Also the ice output only fits a standard size glass. Otherwise you have to slant the glass because the height is so short.

Very good refrigerator, it has two separate and independent doors wich make things more practical and simple to choose the food, that is the feature that l like the most

Looks nice but feels cheap. I thought I payed attention to the details of the appliance but after it was delivered I noticed that the shelves are not adjustable, the shelves inside the door are, but not the main shelves. This refrigerator has 3 drawers wich most others only have 2. The reason I use the word cheap is because the drawers and the plastic condiment shelves feel like they will crack very easy, same with the ice dispenser switch on the outside of the door. You get what you pay for and if you need a new refrigerator at an affordable price I would recommend this. Ice maker is large, but the ice is small, about half the size of a standard ice cube.

Great fridge so far, but the configuration of the controls for the water and ice dispensers needs to be redone. The location doesn’t allow for a tall glass to access the ice, and sometimes when trying to get one, you accidentally hit the other at the same time. Side by side lever/switches would definitely be an improvement.

I have had this for over a month. So far so good. I had a Kenmore that was just two years old. It was a French Door style that was irreparable. This side by side may be an older style but it pays to have one that has dependable history.
