William Basinski - Variations: A Movement in Chrome Primitive - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

VARIATIONS A MOVEMENT IN CHROME PRIMITIVE was created using piano tape loops, which were played randomly against themselves creating feedback loops. By InchcloningInch small cells of melody then InchbreedingInch them randomly, new sounds were formed. These new sounds move in and out of the original cells, creating a complex crystalline structure, a new life form not unlike a city for example, which the original cells occupy in multitudes, moving in and out of one another in infinite combinations.
