So I bought the M2 as my first laser. I'm still in the learning process, and testing different materials. However, from the projects I have attempted so far, the IR laser makes engraving acrylic and metal so much easier and better quality than the 20W diode laser. Much quicker, and better coloring on both metal and acrylic. The definition is also very good. With Xtool materials the pre-settings are good, with only a little tweaking to get the image how I liked it. Also used metal business cards to initially test before using on a bolt that I did not want to mess up. Turned out very well and will definitely get a fair amount of use. When working with black acrylic, it is very easy to engrave with the IR and then switch to the diode to cut it out. If you are going to be working with metal and acrylic on your M2, this is a definitely a great add on.
