      Great coverage for that "JUST IN CASE"

      I had a Canon handicam which took a fall down a cliff and was pretty well bashed up. The LED screen broke off during the fall and the camera was really beat up. My stepson, who was using the camera, gathered up the camera and screen, returning the wrecked camera to me, with many apologies. I took it in to Geek Squad, who shipped it off with the comment "looks like it's non-repairable". About a week later, I received a phone call and email verifying the camera was totaled and credit would be issued at the store. Geek Squad was great, issuing a full refund via gift card which I used to replace the Canon. I highly recommend spending the money for coverage, especially the Accident Damage coverage, which will replace the unit if you have an accident. Saved me by giving me credit for the original credit on a new camera. And my step son was relieved he didn't have to pay for the replacement. If you don't get it, then any damage is your lose and total replacement is only going to be money out of your pocket.

      Accidental Protection plan misleading

      Sales rep convinced me to purchase a three year accidental protection plan to cover my GoPro Hero3. Sales rep told me that the policy would cover damage as well as loss of the camera due to mounting issues. I thought this was too good to be true and I questioned the sales rep about the policy. He repeatedly stated that it would cover loss of the camera. Today my son lost the camera due to the mount failing while skiing in deep powder. I called in to the Geek Squad to report the loss and submit a policy claim. I was informed that the policy does NOT cover loss of the camera. Obviously I am very disappointed with the sales rep and the misleading information he provided about this policy.

      I swear by the geek squad warranty, it is well worth it on anything you buy at Best Buy!! For example, My daughters Kindle stopped working, she has had it for almost 3 years, was just a few days shy of the warranty expiring, took it in & got full amount I originally paid!!! Crazy right? we then bought a new kindle & of course of the warranty!! Also make sure on the more expensive items you get the longest warranty offered! cause not all items will offer you a renewal each year so be sure to ask

      False claims of "protection"

      I bought an LG Tone Pro with a discount. I had to pay about $30 to replace the product. My Geek Squad protection was discounted from $20 to $10. The product itself was also discounted, $70 (-$20 discount) to $50. Also, the day I replaced the product was also on a 'discounted day'. The person that I spoke with said I had to pay the remaining price, but I had insurance.

      In the past the unit was replaced with a the next model if the one purchased was discontinued, now they don't do that Electronics always changes model numbers, in this case the "newer model" has nothing different I can discern, yet because they don't make the older model anymore, I had to pay almost 100 dollars to get my failed unit replaced. Not happy at all

      We bought a GoPro along with attachments for a trip. Since this was out first experience with one of these, we went to the Geek Squad for help changing out a part. They had no idea and we did most of the work while they read the directions. We wanted to do it in the store in case there was a problem and didn't want to break anything. Would have been nice to have someone show us how to use it and change out parts.

      I've had this 1 year accidental program for almost a month now. I still don't understand what it covers. They say to download the manual or whatever on geeksquad's website but I still don't understand it. I think I have to go in store and really have to ask someone which is so annoying, but I need clear instructions of what it covers.

      I would get this on any electronic product, I updated the firmware on a GoPro Hero 4 Silver and it would not respond, I took the camera to Best Buy and with little questions, he told me to go get another one. I went and found out they did not sell the silver anymore, so I was able to get the Hero 5 Black. All I needed to do was to get another protection plan. Well that was a no brainer.
