It’s such a life saver for me and so much faster than my older one. It’s lightweight and easily fits in my backpack. I use it daily and have never had any issues with it so far.

I made three phone calls to best buy and the sales person told me what to do to get the light on.( three different sales people, three different answers). Finally I called an HP representative and they said that model did not have a backlit keyboard. The ad has the wrong specs. I wasn't too happy. I bought the laptop for my grandson and he wanted a lighted backboard. He decided to keep it anyway because he had it all setup.

Unfortunately, the screen became damaged the computer cost more to repair than what it was worth. Since I needed a replacement ASAP, I started reviewing laptops. For the speed, memory, brand, and features such as DVD drive, webcam, etc - this was the best value. PROS: Very light weight, large hard-drive size, quality processor, nicely designed, large screen size, good battery life, and 10-key numeric pad. CONS: Audio. I feel it is very low. However, I am comparing this laptop to my old laptop which had Beats Audio so it is not apples to apples. Internet speed. Sometimes it seems a bit sluggish but that may be due to my internet connection and not the computer itself. Overall, the laptop works great. The only let down really has been the audio. I could have spent more money for more quality audio but honestly, you have to consider your use of the laptop. I primarily use my laptop for work (healthcare) and some personal surfing. If you're someone who constantly plays music from your laptop or movies, you may want to consider spending more for better audio.

Best Buy offers Geek Squad Protection Plans, and you can select coverage for a number of years. It covers the same as the manufacturer, and they also have options for accidental handling coverage. They also offer Technical Support plans for software issues (virus protection, software installs, OS restores, etc.).
