We had set up our new portable AC July 1, same day we picked it up. We did let it settle for a few hours before turning it on. We had read that if it was laying on it's side during transport it is best to allow it to sit for the same amount of time it was laying down, the box was too tall to fit right side up, we needed to lay it down, the drive was only about 10 to 15 minutes from our home. Although in another article it states to wait 24 hours before turning it on, I can only assume that is had it been through delivery for a day or so, not sure. We are very pleased with the Insignia portable AC so far. Although our living room window is rather small, setting it up with the out take hose was very easy. Our windows are the up & down type, we only needed to cut some of the plastic casing where the out take hose connects to hold it in place, so it would fit between the window sill, and we did not need to remove or put our screen up, it worked out perfect. Our living room is small & if you want to keep the cool air within that space, a simple adjustable curtain/shower rod with a curtain can help to block the door way.. We love the swing option button to be able to adjust the air flow as it slowly moves up & down to allow cool air to disburse, or set it at what ever direction you want by pressing the swing button as it begins to move up & down press it once more at the adjustment you like the air flow. Many settings to choose also for the fan speed, low, med, high, auto, or continued. Love the sleep option, timer as well & the follow me option to set the remote to sense the temp from the unit. One thing I feel they could have added was a led light for the remote, but not a huge deal, we love the way it works in the 80 plus humid temps.. We have not had to drain the bottom as of yet. The manual states the unit will beep 8 x to warn you.

I wanted to wait at least a couple months of using this before doing my review. After months of carefully & cautiously reading reviews and looking for a new AC I settled on this Frigidaire Window AC and I’m happy I did! She’s beautiful she blows so strong and so cold! It fits my window perfectly The remote is so nice! Every unit I’ve ever had before the little remotes that came with them always broke within a month no kidding. This remote actually feels pretty sturdy & easy to use. The buttons are easy and smooth I think it might actually last a while ! I like how I can put it on dry mode too! Right now it’s hot as u know what so it’s on Cool but I like that Dry option! The filters easy to clean and it was easy to put it the window! I’m a 48 yr old woman I had breast cancer a few yrs ago so I’m not the strongest person but I was able to Install it in my window with some help from my daughter. We did a good job and so far we are happy with this awesome Frigidaire AC

I’m sooooo glad we got the protection plan on the portable AC. For some reason it kept leaking water all over the floor in the middle of the burning summer we couldn’t use it anymore. Didn’t even want to deal with portable anymore so we went to the bestbuy with the AC and got a brand new window AC - updated (it wasn’t an old brand or model). So worth it and it all was done so fast. They didn’t have the new AC in stock so they gave me a Best Buy that did and the transaction went perfectly. Due to covid they just took the portable AC (it wasn’t in a box or anything) and came out with my new AC. I ALWAYS buy protection plans on everything that’s an appliance or electronic
