A Must Have.
I was never a fan of extended warranties. I thought they were basic ripoffs since I hardly found myself in need to use them.
Then I purchased my first LED TV from Best Buy five years ago and went with the Geek Squad Protection. Talk about service that was easy to redeem!
After about a year, my TV started acting up. Geek Squad came to the house and looked at the tv and said that the part was not replaceable and therefore I was a candidate for getting a replacement TV.
I loaded up the old TV and brought it to my Best Buy. I discovered that my old TV model was no longer around so I was able to get an upgrade of a Smart 3D tv that was technically worth more than my old TV but it was listed at the price of my old model. Since then, when it comes to purchases that are $100 or more, I opt for the protection plan.
Well, I now think its a great idea to have a warranty since my nightmare at Target. I purchased an Element Tv which they never stood behind their products unless you have warranty. So I had nothing but good experiences with BestBuy so far. Bought many electronics from them recently and turned in a Dynex product within 1 yr warranty that stopped working and was easily given a gift card for another purchase . So far haven't had to use any warranty but to my knowledge no mailing in products just take back to store or if too big they should pick it up from home when delivery new item. Chat tech support is very unhelpful from my experience
Customer service is great I can't think of the best experience I've had with the warranty department unless it's best buy they have the best warranty program I tell any one. If your equipment has stopped working and you have warranty depending at which best buy your at they will exchange for same product or same in price. The warranty program is the reason I will always be a best buy customer. Just don't go to the Santa Cruz lane store management does not care about satisfied customers.
