Q: What is the actual refresh rate?
A: To be honest, I don't know for sure and cannot find a definitive answer. Based on that I assume it is a 60hz true refresh rate. Otherwise, Vizio would be printing in the largest font possible 'TRUE 120HZ REFRESH RATE" not 120hz effective refresh rate. That being said after watching the set for the last few weeks with all types of fast motion I personally have not noticed any motion blurring. In a nutshell, I find the set to be very good (on par with any other 4k TV I have seen) and for a very good price. I am very pleased with my purchase.
A: Vizio has 3 models in the m series ones that have 8 7 or a 6. Though this is technically the lowest end of the m series its basically identical in features to the 7 model. I believe the difference between the 6 and 7 to the 8 are peak brightness and number of local dimming zones.

A: To make sure you’re getting the most out of you VIZIO TV, we’d recommend making sure your devices are connected with an HDMI cable, and are set to broadcast in 4K (2160p) or Full HD (1080p). You can also individually adjust your picture settings in the menu. For brighter rooms try using the ‘Calibrated’ setting, for darker rooms try ‘Calibrated Dark’.
