Like Genesis?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you like Genesis you're going to love this album. this is one of those CDs that you listen to from beginning to end. Back in the old days ofvinyl you could choose track one track 3 track 5 etcetera, but this one just went round and round until it was done. Then you flipped and repeat. Really, one of the best Genesis albums I've heard.

This started it all, for me...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was, dare I say, the Genesis of my love affair with this band. I heard "Trick of the Tail" on WLUP in Chicago on my little clock radio, and I was a fan. Older siblings had already discovered Genesis, so I had ready access to their albums, so I made my cassette recordings and so began the endless discovery. The first album of the Phil Collins era, they actually recorded the whole thing, sans vocals, before deciding that Phil could fit in for Peter just fine, thank you. Phil provided the vocal tracks, they went out on tour in March of '76 to promote this new album, and new Genesis, and so began the next phase of the magic that is "Genesis". This is the best of both Genesis worlds, blending the Gabriel era with what would become the more commercially successful, Phil Collins era. The production is amazing, especially for the times (recorded late 1975 to early '76), and does not contain a single weak song. If you long for the time that the song writing, and structure of the melody meant something, get this one in your collection!
