I've had the Acer C720P-2661 for about a month now. I wanted something lightweight and portable, and with a keyboard. The 32GB solid state dreive tilted the scale in favor of the C720. I was leery of the mere 2GB of RAM, but so far that hasn't been a problem. Then again, I'm not the kind of user who'll open up a slew of tabs and apps. This thing has the fastest boot-up I have EVER seen. Google claims that Chromebooks boot up in 7 seconds. Yeah, that's about right. Open the lid, enter password, and zoom--you're good to go. By default, you open into your homepage on the Chrome browser. You are going to be limited to Google Apps; that means no Photoshop (though Adobe and Google are said to be working on that), no other browser (I still prefer Firefox to Chrome, but I can live with Chrome)--if there's no Google App for it, you can't run it. Well, sort of. If you have an Android apk and the Twerk app, then in theory you can convert your Android app to a Chrome app. It works for Skype, but as for other apps...well, your mileage may vary. I've found Google Apps to be good enough for what I do, most of the time. I'll sometimes fall back on my Inspiron laptop when I want to rip a CD (yes, I still have a few of those) or when printing from the Chromebook gets dicey. Our printer is a Cloud-ready Pixma, and I registered it with Google when I first set up the Chromebook. Printing was flawless for a few weeks but last week the Pixma was showing off-line status (it wasn't). And while web browsing works great, I can't watch Xfinity TV online, as I can on my laptop. On the other hand, I've got Netflix and Vudu working just fine (get with the program, Comcast). I wish the screen were more vivid. It's acceptable. Viewing angles are fine when you're looking straight at the screen. Turning up the brightness helps but drains the battery faster. Battery life seems to be about the seven hours or so Acer claims; I haven't timed it to know for sure. The keyboard is compact and most of the keys do double duty but you'll need to dig into the help files to find out how to delete, use ALL CAPS, move to a document's end or beginning, select text by words, etc. Some of the reviewers have said a Chromebook can't do those things. Not so--but, as I said, you'll have to dig down to find out how. All in all, I am more than happy with the response. Favorite apps: Google Drive, Google Docs, Feedly, Zoho Docs, Hangouts, Gmail--plenty here for day-to-day browsing. Oh, and Angry Birds works well here too. The trackpad is weird, though. I wish it were a more traditional design.

At the urging of my oldest son I bought this and have had no regrets. Its easy to use and very fast and I love the touchscreen. The price was affordable and the size makes it so portable. My youngest son likes it better than his ipad that he has for school. Would recommend this for all online shopping, bill paying and browsing.

Having no experience with the Chrome OS, I really didn't know what to expect. It is so easy to get used to. My family was looking to replace an old desktop, and we weren't wanting to lug around a big, heavy laptop. Cloud storage makes everything quick and easy to gain access too. Setting up multiple profiles is literally as easy as entering your Google credentials. The C720P powers up in almost no time at all, so it's ready when you need it. Battery life is as expected. It won't last all day if you're streaming video all day, but lasts quite a while if you're just browsing and editing documents. If you take advantage of dimming the screen when you don't require full brightness, it will certainly extend your battery life. We purchased the C720P touchscreen model over the standard C720 model because of the doubled SSD storage space. It's nice for the files that you don't want to trust to the cloud, and can eliminate the need for an external USB drive. The touchscreen is nice for some games, but overall, we hardly use it. This model does also come with the 64-bit version of the OS, and a faster processor. For the additional $100 over the standard C720, the C720P is everything we need in a small, easy to transport package.
