Customers are delighted by the 144hz refresh rate and excellent color calibration of the 27" IPS LED 4K UHD G-SYNC Monitor, praising its vibrant color reproduction and smooth gaming experience. However, some customers find the monitor expensive. The high price point is a recurring concern among buyers.
Pros for me: Picture quality is unmatched. Eye burning brightness with HDR. The Colors! OMG! G-Sync. I don't know if I got really lucky or this is a refined version of the original monitor but I had unnoticeable IPS bleed and glow. Cons for me: Fan noise. High Price. (Paid $1449 at the time) Blooming. Ultimately is what led me to return this monitor. Once I noticed it I just couldn't unsee it. I work really hard for my money and at this price point I expect near perfection.

So you're looking for an IPS 4k panel for photo editing or graphic design but don't want to be stuck with 60fps when you game? Say no more. This is really your only option (Asus has a version that uses the exact same panel). At the default refresh rate (120Hz) you'll get the full 10-bit color profile while at the overclocked 144Hz refresh rate you'll drop down to 8-bit. Some say it's noticeable, others don't notice it. It's a personal preference, however, you'll rarely be able to push 144hz at 4k with today's hardware anyway so I recommend just leaving it at 120Hz and enjoying the better color depth. The color calibration is excellent out of the box. I re-calibrated with my X-Rite i1 DisplayPro and barely any adjustment was actually required. I am a little disappointed with the on-monitor picture profiles as you can't edit the default profiles (for example, changing brightness level) because it just switches to "custom" profile, however, the custom profile resets to whatever profile you had last. I know this is confusing, but basically it means if you want to modify the brightness of one profile for when you edit photos, there's no way (that I've found) to actually save that if you switch it to a game mode. This gets really annoying if you're frequently switching back and forth. I don't notice the active cooling fan at all (even with my ear against the back) and I'm pretty sensitive to fan noise, so don't be too concerned. I'm not sure what other reviews were talking about with the fan being noticeable. Windows HDR and scaling issues are awful, but this isn't the monitor's fault. Really hoping the big update coming soon helps as it causes flickering and strange mis-scaling at times that can be really annoying. Overall a great monitor and fantastic for those who like to create and game on the same system.

I just purchased this monitor and have no complaints! The 4k and HDR1000 looks amazing! I haven't gotten to really test it out yet but from the short list of games and videos I've used it for it's done very well, the 144hz is definitely a nice bonus even though not many people will be able to get that on 4k with current hardware. I have a 2080 Super and I believe it compliments this monitor well. The fan on my model makes almost no noise, but I haven't really tested under very demanding games yet. The only downside I guess would be the price but this monitor should be close to top of the line and compliment games and videos for many years to come. I would recommend this monitor.
