There are lots of 27" monitors to chose from, I chose to replace 2 older 28" lcd monitors with 2 of these primarily for price and use. At the time of purchase this was the best deal I could find anywhere on the web for a 27" monitor. Acer is a good name, I've been using their products for decades with no problems. always out last the warranty. so far!. there's nothing special about these other than the 3 most common inputs included. its few that support DVI, VGA & HDMI in one monitor these days. Mac users can use a Mini display Port adapter to connect. I tested all three inputs with the same source and found both the DVI and VGA performed well and identical in appearance. The HDMI input did not, the image was washed out compared to the other DVI and VGA inputs. Even though I could have tried to adjust the hdmi to match it did not make sense to do so since it performed well with no adjustment on the other 2 inputs.Since I'm using this in a 2 monitor W7setting I chose the DVI and VGA inputs since my graphics card supports all three. So far all is nominal, steam games look fine, basic use is fine too. The one disappointment for Me was when I opened the box and found the external power supply. Its a personal choice but I prefer internal power supplies on monitors (No power brick, Direct from the wall AC plug to the monitor). I almost returned these due to this, but after looking at the market again I found it would have cost $100 more each to get that feature. I decided to install and test them. I wall mounted these on 2 vesa 100x100 arms with ease. They phyically lok great, thin bezel, thin depth, non glare. I'm Happy! My advice is if You are looking for a 27" and need multiple inputs and can find this for $200 or less its a good deal at this time. Things change so fast however, so look around at the entire market before chosing this monitor, there may be a better deal out there. The next monitors I buy will be 4K once the price comes down. For Now, these will do.

Wanted to upgrade my AOC 23" monitor with a larger screen to see easier. Went to the Best Buy website and saw this 27" monitor for $100 off. Read a few reviews and they were all great. So went to Best Buy and bought this. Set up was simple and the monitor is very light. One reviewer complained about having a power box that had to be plugged into instead of plugging directly into the outlet. Legitimate, but not a big problem. The screen does tilt, but is not height adjustable, I guess OK for a $149 monitor. My AOC monitor had controls on the base, very easy to accidentally activate. Very annoying. Not a problem with the ACER. And the ACER has an easily identifiable on/off switch which lights up noticeably when on. Not so on the AOC. Now the really important stuff. Let me start by saying I'm not a gamer, but for regular use, this is an excellent monitor. It may be excellent for gaming too for all I know. I was worried in going from a 23" screen to a 27" screen I might lose some sharpness. This screen is sharper than the smaller one. And the colors are great. I looked at some HD YouTube videos on it, full screen and they were great. So far no problems, love the monitor. There may be better ones out there with more features and possibly better resolutions, but not at this price and for my needs it's fantastic. I strongly recommend this monitor.

I was looking to step up from a ACER 23" monitor and add a third input (previous monitor only has VGA and DVI) as I intend to have two computers and now a security camera system hooked to the same monitor. I was a little hesitant about buying this monitor based on other comments about the washed out HDMI input. I figured I needed to see it in person at the store. Sure enough, of all the monitors on display (most using HDMI inputs) this one was notibly washed out. I tried adjusting the monitor there but it was no comparison to the other monitors. I did notice a lot of the other monitors had glossy screens which I do not like because of the glare. I decided to take a chance and purchase it anyways as I've learned that how TVs and monitors look at the store aren't always how they will look at home. I have to say that I'm very pleased with the display. I have the security system hooked to the HDMI and it looks just as good or better than when it's hooked to the VGA input. Oddly when I have one of the computers hooked to the HDMI, the display isn't quite full size and leaves a 1" black bar around the edge unless I reduce the resolution. I suspect that's a graphics card driver or setting issue. I also read the complaints about the stand. The display model at the store was indeed wobbly but I really snugged down the screws on my monitor and the base seems to be fairly stable, no worse than my previous ACER and comparable to some of the other display models. As with my previous ACER monitor, the menu isn't the easiest to navigate but probably no worse than the dozen or so other monitors I've dealt with recently. My only regret is not buying it one day earlier when the Best Buy website was listing it for $169.

This is my second screen as I like to watch movies while i play video games. The screens are absolutely amazing. A little tip though, they come standard set on high brightness level. Just go into yours Windows 10 or Whatever version you have of a screen calibrator, or use screen calibration software and you are good to go. Mine looks better now, than the model they had on display running a demo. The LED backlit is great and gives precise blacks and whites, these also work great with Nvidias DSR, which is a program where you can run 4K, 1440P, and other resolutions in-between and they downsample it on your screen and it look ridiculously awesome. I usually use 1440 though, because of how small 4K makes all the icons. Of course you can change icon and text size in your PC controls. The 60hz is amazing and I downsample from 144hz and it has no issues. With these being on sale swipe them up, I got my first one for $250.00 and my second on sale for $180.00 or something. If you are a gamer and a 4K movie watcher, but don't want to spend the money on a 4K screen or even a 1440 screen, but you want your movies to look better than 1080p and you have a Nvidia 900 series that has DSR support, use it for the desktop not just gaming and you will be amazed. I can't say anymore about how great these screens are. 27" is perfect as I have one of them hooked up to my PS4 and it looks ridiculous with the extra color range that PC monitors give. Don't set on the fence and let the price go back up, go buy 2 of them now for your PC, TV, Movies, or Gaming systems.

Great monitor for the sale price; Issues with Macs

This is a great external monitor to have if you need an external monitor to work from your laptop which happens to be my work setup. I plan on using this for gaming so I cannot really comment on the 60Hz refresh rate and the 5 or 6 ms response time. I read other specs that said that should be fine for gaming as it is the bare minimum of what is acceptable for gaming. If you want a heavy duty monitor for gaming, I'd recommend investing in something else. Now, moving on to the other issue- You should be wary of purchasing Acer external monitors if you are a complete Mac User... Acer does NOT factory test their monitors with Macs- only PC's. Now, for the most part this should not be a huge issue as one could potentially assume that if an external monitor works with a PC then it rightfully should potentially work with a Mac, right? Well, I have found that if you are using this with a Mac, make sure you have a good adapter. I was having connection issues. I was using an HDMI to Thunderbolt CORD as opposed to having an HDMI run from the back of the monitor into an appropriate ADAPTER. I have since switched to an adapter and so far, so good! I have NOT had any connection issues.

    Excellent Large Monitor!

Grabbed this monitor while it was on sale because I wanted to replace on older 24 inch LG monitor. It has been excellent and FAR surpassed my expectations. It is large and the screen can get VERY bright. I usually have to max out brightness on monitors but this one is blinding on max so I can keep it on a comfortable level below max. Color is great and refresh fate is superb for everyday browsing and media consumption but I'm sure it would handle heavier games just fine as well. The only pain point I have with the monitor is the large on/standby notification light/power button on the bottom right side of the monitor. While on a very bright blue light shines and while on standby it is a bright amber. I wish there was an option to turn the light off as it is sort of distracting while you use the monitor in the beginning. Other then that this is an excellent monitor that I would 100% reccomend, especially if you can catch it on sale.

I am delighted with this purchase. I thought I was going to have to return the monitor because the picture quality was terrible. I was lucky enough to come across another review that saved me the trip on doing so. So the reason I purchased this was to use it as a second monitor for my 27" iMac 5k display I purchased an HDMI adapter and connected it to my iMac and the picture had a yellow tint to it and no matter how much I adjusted the settings on the monitor nothing worked. I ran across a review that stated the HDMI picture quality is terrible however the VGA and DMI ports give a great display. I can attest to the USB-C to VGA converter connecting to my iMac with a 5K display has an excellent picture quality now. The monitor compared to my 27" iMac seems small but the monitor is excellent in size on the width is just not as big as the iMac which is ok with me. The monitor fits its purpose on being a dual to my iMac, and I am happy with the picture quality on it now.

I already owned this monitor and when I was ready to set up a system with (2) monitors, this was my choice. I first ordered it on-line because when I was first looking, the store I go to said they did not carry it. I was so disappointed when I received it. The screen was darker and the brightness was set to the max. It did not match my first purchase that was great. So, I quickly returned the monitor. After a while, I decided to give it one more try. The store now carried this larger monitor. I bought it and brought it home. Yeah! It matched my first purchase and was bright and easy to read. I would ask Best Buy to "get their stories all on the same page". I called about a price match. When I have called before, sometimes I get a great customer rep and sometimes I talk to someone who acts annoyed. This time, I called the 1-800 number again. They spent time with me and then at the end said oh, I can't give you a price match, you'll need to go to the store. I asked if I really needed to drive to the store and the answer was "I am not sure, but I think so". Hmm . . . these price matches sound good but it's a 50/50 chance if you will struggle.
