  I like to purchase reconditioned Acer laptops because they accept the Linux operating system very readily. note: (don't buy a touchscreen model. Touch screen is not a Linux specialty. Don't be afraid to completely delete windows after the installation.) I've installed Linux Mint myself and also had the Geek Squad do it - at no cost if under geek contract! These Acer laptops really fly using Linux. A smart way to take a discounted machine and set it up to run like a new $1000 unit.
