Q: QuestionIs this a touch screen or not? Overview says no. But why then a 2 in 1?
Asked by ArnsAD.
- A:Answer This Spin Chromebook does have a touch screen. The info under Specifications is incorrect.

Q: QuestionAre the keys backlit? My understanding was that this model had backlit keys. However, the specifications say they are not. Is this a cheaper model that doesn't have backlit keys?
Asked by Chromelover.
- A:Answer YES the keys are back lit. There are some major errors in the specifications as written here on Best Buy's website. The refurbished unit listed here is .... Model CP713-2W-5874 (Look up this model number on the web for full details) (I've included ACER's link down below.) Part Number: NX.HWNAA.001 but you'll get more info Googling the model number above. I purchased this exact model June 2021 (new, not refurbished) I love it. It is a bright, fast, very versatile Chromebook. I love the 3:2 screen ratio and will never go back to using 16:9. Also it works with my Wacom -Intuos drawing-tablet over USB, with full pressure sensitivity. I have NOT tested and activee stylus directly on the Touchscreen, so I don't know if that will work. Acer is not clear on that in their online info. Neither do I know if ACER supports the USI (Universal Stylus Initiative) but I have the Intuos tablet, so I don't care, I've got that covered. The INTEL i5-10210U processor is 10th generation (not 7th) it is 14 nano lithography (architecture) . The build is part of the 2020 Intel Athena project (re-branded EVO in 2021 for builds using 11th generation i-core processors. These are really business grade machines, with Gorilla-Glass IPS displays, touchscreens, and they're bright at 400 nits. That's awesome compared to most (250 to 300 nits). This model is fast, but not as fast as the 11th generation EVO version... I've had my hands on both. But its faster than 95% of the Chromebooks I've tried. I have no experience with (so cannot vouch for) the re-certified units, but the design and build are solid. I love this Chromebook, my only gripes.... the built in speakers are wanky, and the 5.0 Bluetooth doesn't like a few of the 4.0 Bluetooth devices I have around the house, but I always get them to work after I've fiddled around with it a bit. Yes it supports HD audio over Bluetooth (but a lot of folks do not realize there's a few tricks to getting the most out of HD over Bluetooth, you've got to know your devices.) The Acer Spin CP713-2W-5874 supports PD well over USB C and so offers you a loot of advanced capabilities (but not Thunderbolt)... but yes it does USB monitors, and display port over C, 4k hdmi, I've run DACs straight from USB-c, HDMI, headsets, and webcams. No problem. It has an actual SSD (PCIe NVMe) not some flash eMMC. It also has more System memory than most (8 GB not 4 like most Chromebooks). It also has a micro SD slot. The CP713-2W-5874 supports Play Store android apps. You can turn that on or off at will. Not every app works well. But the more well known ones do. I own Macs, Windows, iOS, Android, and Chromebook. 90% of what I do everyday I do on this Chromebook, the rest on my Galaxy Phone. I use Windows rarely. Q: QuestionAre refurbished computers in perfect working condition? Are there any scratches or other blemishes?
Asked by 2osdad.
- A:Answer Recertified products can be demo units, review units or customer returns. Unfortunately there is no way to determine why a particular model was recertified. With that said, these should be purchased with the expectation of some possible cosmetic issues, but the product should be in working condition.
