Holy moly! I was so shocked when I got this monitor! I did not think that it was going to be as big as it is (lol). I had measured out after I bought it, and realized it was a full eight inches BIGGER than my laptop screen. So I was floored when it arrived and I had to clear off a lot of desk space for this to fit properly! But it's worth it.
PROS:
- comes with multiple cables to plug into different types of tower ports
- HDMI cable is great
- super clear picture quality, it's like having a mini plasma screen in my room now
- many adjustable brightness settings. there's the presets, like 'ECO', 'MOVIE', 'GRAPHICS', 'STANDARD', and then 'USER'. so you can change it all with the click of a button.
- simple to set up ( though the instruction booklet is awful). plugs right in and you're all set!
- does NOT need any tools to assemble
CONS:
- instructions on setting up the monitor were very vague, haha. the booklet said "mount screen to stand" "plug in" "turn on" and that was it.
- it took a long time to figure out how to mount the stand without harming the monitor itself.
- ( i don't think there's speakers on it? but i use headphones 24/7 so i don't really know )
OVERALL:
- Amazing monitor.
- Honestly I did not know that computers could have such a clear image.
- Perfect with my Alienware computer, the graphics look PHENOMENAL!
- Could not ask for a better monitor. It's just the right size ( after clearing space on my desk ). It's perfect for my games or using as a second screen for my laptop.

This monitor is great for gaming. I use it with my i7 processor PC and play Black Ops 3. I'm able to get up to 300 frames per second while playing using hdmi and adjusting game settings. I'll average 80 frames per second with the highest game settings. I'm very happy with this Asus monitor. It's a steel for the price I paid which was $150. Call sign - UrbnWrior.

I got this on sale for $99, so it was a steal. The display is bright and clear. No complaints at all. One tiny complaint, would be nice is if they had some markings on the face to indicate where the buttons are on the bottom. I know it's trend to make the monitor bezels as clean as possible, but I have 2 computers hooked to it and switch between inputs a lot. (I stuck a small piece of tape on the front as a marker)
Ok, the cool thing, it came with both a VGA and a HDMI cable, so I didn't have to scrounge up one when I got home.
And the best thing, it required NO tools to assemble. The vertical stand connects to the flat base with a wing-bolt that folds flat once tight (sorry not pictured, 2 pic limit)
The stand and monitor have a quick connector, so you assemble the stand and set the monitor down on it - Click, done. no trying to put in 4 screws without dropping it.
The one picture also gives a good view of the input ports. On the back where they are easy to see, not up underneath the bottom, like a lot of them do.
All in all, it took longer to pull the parts out of the box than it did to assemble the monitor.

I use this screen for studying, mostly watching review videos for medical school. I also do a little old school gaming on it (Star Wars Galaxies) and the game looks better than ever. I also watch a little Netflix everyday after studying and the HD looks great on this screen. I don't have any problems with glare.
The only change that I would make would be making the buttons along the underside of the screen bevel more responsive and getting rid of that blue LED that is on while the monitor is on. Such an annoying trend!

This monitor from Acer is one of the best monitors I've seen for the price range. It has very thin bezels which is pleasing to the eye. Also, colors are very nice and accurate. The colors really pop. After I took the monitor out of the box it was really easy to set up.

I have been toughing it out with a 13" laptop for over a year, so now I feel like I'm looking at a billboard, lol! I love the clarity of the picture. We watch HD movies on it all the time. But because I am a dog breeder, my favorite part is that I can watch my live streaming "puppy cam" on part of my screen and still keep working on the rest of the screen.so I can work in peace knowing the pups are fine.
A:There is HDMI input and VGA input. I use the HDMI input. I haven't tried using it with a Cable box with the HDMI -- I think it would work -- but the monitor does not have built-in speakers. However, there is an audio port (standard computer speaker plug) in the back of the monitor so I think in theory, your HDMI cable from your cable box would carry the audio from your cable box to the monitor, and if you plug speakers into the monitor, then I guess the sound should come out. But I have never tried that.
A:Yes, no.
Unlike other monitors/Tvs this doesn't come with a so called "gamemode", but it does come with a mode called graphics which I assume is Acer's version of gamemode.
Gamemodes aren't necessarily necessary. They are intended to decrease processing of the image, but more often they are simple visual presets that seem to turn up brightness/contrast, saturation, and edge enhancement.
Some manufactures may have better optimized gamemodes then others though...
