Amazing!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Holy moly! I was so shocked when I got this monitor! I did not think that it was going to be as big as it is (lol). I had measured out after I bought it, and realized it was a full eight inches BIGGER than my laptop screen. So I was floored when it arrived and I had to clear off a lot of desk space for this to fit properly! But it's worth it. PROS: - comes with multiple cables to plug into different types of tower ports - HDMI cable is great - super clear picture quality, it's like having a mini plasma screen in my room now - many adjustable brightness settings. there's the presets, like 'ECO', 'MOVIE', 'GRAPHICS', 'STANDARD', and then 'USER'. so you can change it all with the click of a button. - simple to set up ( though the instruction booklet is awful). plugs right in and you're all set! - does NOT need any tools to assemble CONS: - instructions on setting up the monitor were very vague, haha. the booklet said "mount screen to stand" "plug in" "turn on" and that was it. - it took a long time to figure out how to mount the stand without harming the monitor itself. - ( i don't think there's speakers on it? but i use headphones 24/7 so i don't really know ) OVERALL: - Amazing monitor. - Honestly I did not know that computers could have such a clear image. - Perfect with my Alienware computer, the graphics look PHENOMENAL! - Could not ask for a better monitor. It's just the right size ( after clearing space on my desk ). It's perfect for my games or using as a second screen for my laptop.

Beautiful monitor and it came with cables
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this on sale for $99, so it was a steal. The display is bright and clear. No complaints at all. One tiny complaint, would be nice is if they had some markings on the face to indicate where the buttons are on the bottom. I know it's trend to make the monitor bezels as clean as possible, but I have 2 computers hooked to it and switch between inputs a lot. (I stuck a small piece of tape on the front as a marker) Ok, the cool thing, it came with both a VGA and a HDMI cable, so I didn't have to scrounge up one when I got home. And the best thing, it required NO tools to assemble. The vertical stand connects to the flat base with a wing-bolt that folds flat once tight (sorry not pictured, 2 pic limit) The stand and monitor have a quick connector, so you assemble the stand and set the monitor down on it - Click, done. no trying to put in 4 screws without dropping it. The one picture also gives a good view of the input ports. On the back where they are easy to see, not up underneath the bottom, like a lot of them do. All in all, it took longer to pull the parts out of the box than it did to assemble the monitor.

Decent monitor, serviced in Temple-TX
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought two of these as I work in cyber security and I didn't feel like taking the others off the VESA mounts and stands (although one is a 3D 120Hz monitor with dual DVI AND two HDMI A ports). All in all, Acer builds decent stuff - I work for Dell Services (Dell Servers and Storage now with the VMWARE EMC Airtwarch merger is odd). Dell servers are still made in Austin and Alienware is also still in Flodia. Their main rivals will probably be Apple Lenovo as far as end user computing. This model has 2 USB 3.9 ports, 1 USB 2.0 MHL low power mobile charging port. SDXC card card reader (even a CAT5/6 port too yay) although the card reader still sticks out like the Yoga 2 Pro for some reason. A lttile heavy and don't believe the keyboard backlight, there is none I would know and I'm look for a FLEX 4-1570 that may have it and fit. Touchscreen and as close to a real Pentium as one has had in a decade. Good BIOS Support, no smart card or biometric but that can be mitigated. Virtualization is possible and I think the COU issue 4430U with hyper threads. One UDIMM silt and PITA to get to but it's DDR4 16GB yu can upgrade to, I put a Consair FORCELE SATA 3 256GB which makes a Serious difference. The only think I find annoying is weight compared to the YOGA 2 ands other competitors similar models. The back does not fold entirely flat as a tabel an owners should be able to but close and the resolution is closer to 720p even though I speculate that though who want 1080p will use the HDMI port. For $399 it's a good value if you do may upgrades - AND LENOVOV PICK A POWER CONNECTOR - I HAVE A YELLOW SQUARE A YEAR AGO ON THE LENOVO YOGA 2 PRO but something entirely different on this model. AND ADDD THE RUBISIZED POWER COATED FEEL - GO FOR THE BEST!!! - Brian Network Security Sr Advisor Dell

Love my wide angle monitor!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been toughing it out with a 13" laptop for over a year, so now I feel like I'm looking at a billboard, lol! I love the clarity of the picture. We watch HD movies on it all the time. But because I am a dog breeder, my favorite part is that I can watch my live streaming "puppy cam" on part of my screen and still keep working on the rest of the screen.so I can work in peace knowing the pups are fine.

I have three of these beauties
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this monitor as its bezelless and performs like a champ however the only downside is that they don't extend the screen to the edges and there is a black strip a little less than 1/2 of a inch. Playing in surround is awesome and these 3 babies have amazing colors. This is a excellent monitor for its price and it has no noticeable delay and you barely notice screent tearing when you are rendering too many frames.

Excellent Monitor...!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best Acer monitor I have ever had. I purchased a much cheaper one at W__mart. I did not like the clarity or color. I went to Best Buy and saw this one on sale for nearly 50% of full retail. I returned the other one ! This is linked directly to my iMac and they work together great !! Color & Brightness remain constant. Very crisp & High resolution. I highly recommend using HDMI not the old RGB cable. It comes with both cables in the box. Excellent and not too big because of very thin bezel.

Perfect tool for Laser
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tired of trying to work from a laptop and not wanting to buy a desktop, we purchased the monitor for using with our laptop. The monitor is the perfect size for being in our garage at chest height, on a shelf and so much easier on our backs and neck. We have it attached to a Sony laptop and have had no problems with it. Perfect size for working on our laser engraver and large enough to enhance the details instead of from the laptop.

Excellent for photographs.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a new laptop and this IPS monitor for my wife's photography business primarily for editing photos. I can't believe how brilliant the images are. What you see on the screen is what you get when printed. The laptop works very well and loads photos in RAW very quickly but the images displayed on this monitor by far exceed the laptop screen capability. Great product for editing photos.

Q: QuestionDoes the Acer H236HL LCD Monitor have sound

Q: QuestionIs this Monitor HDMI input or output? Is the HDMI port an input or output?.. Can I use it for watching tv (Cable Box with HDMI)
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer There is HDMI input and VGA input. I use the HDMI input. I haven't tried using it with a Cable box with the HDMI -- I think it would work -- but the monitor does not have built-in speakers. However, there is an audio port (standard computer speaker plug) in the back of the monitor so I think in theory, your HDMI cable from your cable box would carry the audio from your cable box to the monitor, and if you plug speakers into the monitor, then I guess the sound should come out. But I have never tried that.

Q: QuestionThis specifically states that it IS wall mountable. That is the ONLY reason I purchased this specific monitor. How is it supposedly mounted?
Asked by AR.
- A:Answer Maybe you can and maybe you can't but I've got two of these monitors and I can tell you there are no VESA mounting holes anywhere on this monitor.

Q: Questiondoes this monitor have a 3.5mm headphone jack?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer There is a mini-jack on the back of the monitor. Not the most convenient location, but in keeping with the ultra-sleek design.

Q: QuestionDoes this monitor have a gaming mode?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes, no. Unlike other monitors/Tvs this doesn't come with a so called "gamemode", but it does come with a mode called graphics which I assume is Acer's version of gamemode. Gamemodes aren't necessarily necessary. They are intended to decrease processing of the image, but more often they are simple visual presets that seem to turn up brightness/contrast, saturation, and edge enhancement. Some manufactures may have better optimized gamemodes then others though...

Q: QuestionHow many HDMI ports are there? And what is the max resolution supported?I am getting a gaming computer with a fairly large 17" screen. I want to use a dual monitor function but also connect my xbox to it with a second hdmi port. Is there a second HDMI port ON THE MONITOR (this does not count using VGA to HDMI.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer 1 each of: HDMI, VGA, DVI

Q: QuestionIs this a touchscreen? Please forgive my ignorance if all IPS screens are......
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Unfortunately no however you could get a logitech or other brand touch pad for your desk and have the same swype capability as you would on a touch screen. Almost a better option when you think about having to reach up and lean over your keyboard everytime you want to use the touchschreen unless your using it at a standing desk, shop workstation or similar setup where the keyboard is secondary to the touch input
