I initially bought this as a portable second screen for working on the go, but I have also been using it as a third monitor at my home office. It works great! It’s about the same size as my laptop, so super easy to travel with. Text and color are crystal clear! The power cord is just a little short for some situations, but nothing an extension cord can’t fix.

So this works for me. The most important thing is that thick USB C cable, I believe it's a Thunderbolt cable that is cable of power and display port video data. So you must use this cable. Your laptop or iPad must also be capable of receiving video. Otherwise, you get "no signal" displayed on the Acer screen. Otherwise use the HDMI cable that comes in the box. If you use the pass through ppwer feature, make sure you use the original USB C cable and power adaptor from your labtop. What you should do is just connect power to your laptop and use the USB C (thick cable) to connect to your Acer screen. What I didn't like was the cable is too short for my workflow setup because my mouse move to the Acer screen in Extend mode, it moves from left (laptop) to right (Acer). For Samsung S series phones, it will only work if the phone has Samsung Dex.
