Great Deal
||Posted .purchased this to go with my Windows 8 PC. It's really an amazing monitor and absolutely worthy of purchase. It is an IPS panel which is the reason why it's much more expensive than the typical TN panel that comprises most inexpensive LCD monitors. Because it is IPS, the viewing angles are fantastic. In addition, it has capacitive touch which makes Windows 8 really excellent to use. It can recognize up to 10 points of touch simultaneously, meaning that you can have 2 people using the screen at the same time, perhaps in a game. The screen is extremely responsive. Soon you'll be pinching to zoom in and out. Twirling your fingers to rotate a picture. Swiping to close programs or change programs. It really is like having a tablet on a nice big screen.

What A Beautiful Screen!
||Posted .Wow, this screen is wonderful! The colors and text are sharp and clear. I love the fact that it is a touch screen! I hook it to my Surface Pro 3 and have full touch capability. Or, I can use it with my old desktop computer and enjoy the clearer images. I also like that you can use both VGA & HDMI connections, plus it has extra USB ports (2 of which are USB3). Best Buy had a great price on this monitor and shipped it to my door very quickly. If you are looking for a touch screen monitor this is definitely a great buy.

Great product - nice to have a large touch screen
||Posted .The setup was very simple. I only had to plug in one data cable and the power cord at setup (plug in cables - no software to deal with). The touch screen became disabled once but was easy to fix with reseating the data cable. Has worked with no problem since. I also had to figure out how to disable the internal speakers so I could use my own external unit (read the manual). I really like the touch screen now that I have gotten used to it. You only need to just get close to the screen for it to take action (do your pointing at a bit of a distance). It was a significant jump in price from non-touch but was worth it to me.

This a spoiler!
Posted .Got this on a great sale, was looking at two others and this one beat the others out on specs and price. $299 for $450 monitor! Brought it home, setup was fast and easy, directions a bit confusing though, but not really needed all that much. Every single cable that could be needed was included with the monitor, every single one! Not so with the others I was looking at. Hookup was easy and when I turned the monitor on first, then the PC, things worked the way they should right then, no messing around looking for this or that or any changes or software needed with Windows 8.1. That was that. Great picture, nice acting touchscreen. The trick was, I remembered doing my research before going to get the monitor and remembered comments about cables not completely attached so when I did my setup, I checked and made sure all cables were completely inserted, didn't have the first problem. A little hint, turn the monitor on before turning the PC on when starting up. This way, Windows "sees" the monitor and loads the software needed. I'm pleased as can be with the monitor and the price. Speakers aren't anything to brag about, but they're in a flat screen monitor, can't expect a lot from them. Most who are into better sound from the PC will ad external speakers.

Great monitor for the price
Posted .This is a really beautiful touch screen monitor. I'm using it with a Lenovo desktop computer. A couple points regarding the setup... First of all, when you set up the monitor you MUST use the USB cable that comes with it to connect it to your computer. There is one line that tells you to do this at the bottom of the User's Guide if you load up your CD and read it which I of course didn't do until I had problems... You will also use either the HDMI cable OR the VGA cable to connect to your computer. So 2 cables are required - not just one. I didn't realize this important fact so I had a nice dead monitor at first. Once I plugged in the USB cable it was "lights, camera, action" time! Another glitch I ran into which the manual doesn't discuss is that if you don't hear any audio, then perhaps your computer is defaulting to non-existent speakers instead of to the monitor speakers. I had that problem too. To fix that in my Windows 8.1 system, I had to change my default audio to be the monitor's speakers instead of the computer's speakers. I did this by running a search on "Manage Audio Devices". Once I took care of that I had good audio. Note that I said good audio - not great audio. I feel that the audio is rather low. I will probably end up installing a couple more speakers because I like loud speakers. I'm still thrilled with this monitor and highly recommend it. It is sleek and modern and I loooove the touchscreen. Note: I am using it with the HDMI cable and have a dedicated graphics board in my computer with 2GB dedicated ram for the monitor. One other important point that the manual doesn't tell you is that there IS a power switch - it is tucked away on the bottom right SIDE of the slender glass monitor. I found it by accident. It isn't shown in any diagrams and I didn't realize it even had a power switch until I accidentally pressed it. I hope that the above information helps someone because it took me hours to figure out all these little crucial details which are not plainly spelled out in the manual. I'm brand new to current hardware and Windows 8.1 so none of this was intuitive to me. My old system was 8+ years old and used XP. I'm happy to be in the 21st century now!

Good overall monitor...
||Posted .Touch screen is a good addition to any system, but ties in especially well with Windows 8.1 touch laptop. Only real issue is the non traditional stand. It does allow for the touch monitor to lay pretty flat but for my case I would have liked it to stand up straighter. I also had a problem that I wanted the monitor to sit 2 inches lower by removing the bottom clear bezel (easier to incorporate into my desk setup by being closer to touch) but it would not stand correctly because of the design of the stand. A small issue (just a tiny annoyance) is that it has an auto input change upon no signal detection. I have two systems plugged into it so when I just have to reboot my main laptop it automatically switches input. But overall use and functionality is great. It a touch screen monitor that works as a touch screen monitor.

For a touchscreen tilting is key. I love the stand
||Posted .This monitor is great. The point of needing a touchscreen is that you will be reaching to the screen and will start pushing. The fact that this stand has such a customizable tilt makes it work great no matter what your angle of comfort will be. At any angle you set the stance is solid. The price seems high considering you can get touchscreen surfaces almost as commodities these days, but is well worth it for the size you get. I bought a set of touchscreen pens to go with it to avoid finger smudges and so far I'm very pleased. Video quality is good as well and tilting the monitor at any angle you can still see the image at the same brightness which is key for a product like this.

Lovely to Look At (with apologies to Fred Astaire)
||Posted .I was lucky that this was on sale the day my old, square Samsung monitor gave up the ghost, so price was not a negative factor. Everything about the monitor is positive. You can read all the technical reviews and see the numbers; just know that in real life It is bright, sharp, and responsive. One thing that gave me pause in setting it up is that the stand is really, really stiff and I almost thought I was going to break it off before it would snap into place. Don't worry; just be firm and strong, yet gentile and it will snap into place. The only thing that gave me thoughts of knocking the review down a bit was that it does not have a swivel. On the other hand, it has such clear viewing angles, that I don't find I need to adjust it as I change position. Finally, I wanted touch in anticipation of Windows 10 (skipping the whole 8 thing). Lo and behold: I discovered that it is touch responsive even in Windows 7! Never saw that coming...

Q: QuestionI just bought Acer T232hl along with a new HP Envy 750-514. I am having issues with the monitor not receiving a signal (sometimes it works and other times it will stop and go black). I have tried adjusting the hdmi cables on both. Is the monitor bad?
Asked by MH.
- A:Answer If you don't have a couple of extra hdmi cables, check with a friend or coworker to borrow a couple and see if that clears the issue (which would indicate new cables are needed due to a potential short in the cable or cables).

Q: QuestionCan I use this monitor in portrait mode? If so, do I need a separate stand?
Asked by billcorn.
- A:Answer Assuming you buy a generic wall mount kit, you can always set this up as portrait. Now if you use Windows then you can right click on the desktop and select "Display Settings" where you can change the orientation of the display from Landscape to Portrait and vice-versa.
