I had to purchase CS 6. My power pc G5 conked and I had to upgrade to the Pentium based mac, and had to also upgrade to CS6. I had missed so many upgrades from CS that I had to buy the full version. CS 6 does the same thing as my earlier version with nothing really new or exciting. If you can live with the old version, and I don't know an illustrator worth his salt who can't, stick with the old one.
