Great for those of us with brown thumbs
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have never been able to keep anything alive with standard gardening, but this thing does all the work for you! I love it, and I even have some herbs that have already sprouted!! Not to mention it is a great conversation starter- everyone that has visited me has asked about it :) after I master the herbs kit that came with it I am totally going to try the grow anything kits with my own seeds and see how they turn out.

Green Thumb Not Required
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Aerogarden is probably the easiest way to grow fresh vegetables year-round. The pods are pre-seeded and all you need to do is add water and the fertilizer. This is the slim version which can be placed virtually anywhere. It provides the timer, light, and schedule so all you have to do is add water and fertilizer when it reminds you, so messing it up is rather difficult. As an afterthought, it would be a great way to introduce children to gardening. The second photo I am posting is after 22 days from unpacking to fresh produce which is really fast. There are a few cons, however, and these include dead pods (one did not germinate), limited grow space which causes plant crowding (a trade off because of the size), and the high cost of the pods—if ordered separately—is rather steep for a simple-formed plastic base with the soil mix (the plastic is probably reusable but getting the formed soil pack might be difficult). My last issue is that the directions are a little disorganized. In hindsight, it is very easy to use, but finding out what to do took a little bit of hunting and label reading. For example, I found only one location where it suggests the fertilizing amount is only on the bottle and lists only “capfuls” as opposed to ml or teaspoons and one location where it recommends using distilled water. These do not detract from the ease of use of the Aerogarden. Lastly, the overall its overall value is another consideration. This is not designed to save you money. That is not the point. I can’t, for example, imagine growing enough food to pay for itself anytime soon, however, if having quick easy access to fresh vegetables important it is definitely a winner. The slim version is great for one or two people, but with more people in your home a larger version would be better suited if you have the space.

Amazing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The AeroGarden is excellent. Very easy set up and works better than expected. I tried going veggies indoors during the Spring months and failed in the end. I started the growing process 1 day after I received my order and the results are amazing!! Its been 16 days and four of my six pods (heirloom salad) are about 2-3 inches high already. Sometimes germination takes a little longer for the seed pod varieties, but I am happy with what I have right now. I am going to purchase another so I can grow herbs in one and different veggies in another. Who knows, maybe I will buy two more. You definitely, will not be disappointed with this purchase.

Fast Growing
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased 2 of these as Christmas gifts and my mom immediately started using it. Maybe 3 weeks in, and she’s already growing lettuces. She gave me updates on their growth and it’s been super fast results! I plan to buy another for myself!

Does everything as promised!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this as a Christmas present for my girlfriend and honestly we’ve both ended up loving it. We haven’t harvested anything yet, but watching the sprouts get bigger everyday indoors is very cool; it feels as though their claim of growth being much faster than in soil seems to be absolutely true. Cant wait to reap the rewards when time comes, if all goes well may even consider purchasing another to grow more stuff!

Great hydroponic unit!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really easy to setup and grow your veggies! It twlls you when to add the fertilizer and water. It will also keep count of how old your plants are. I'm satisfied with this unit after having it for almost a month. I wish I bought the bigger one because I can only grow enough salad for one meal for my wife and I.

Harvest Slim
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just add water! Love this system! Super easy set up, everything you need is included in the box. I'm on day 30 and lettuce is ready to harvest! Best Buy had the best price online at the time, so I purchased 2 units. They also sell any replacement items you may need. Very happy with Best Buy's price match guarentee as well. Store reps are always helpful and knowledgeable in my experiences.

Q: QuestionSeems like an expensive way to plant leafy greens indoor. Why is this better than just an indoor soil-based set up?
Asked by mjepk.
- A:Answer I have not had much luck growing indoors for extended periods of time. I purchased the Aerogarden slim and 23 days in I have 4 inch tall plants and a variety of lettuce. I’m halfway to being able to harvest some for a salad.

Q: QuestionAre the aero grow pods reusable or can you remove the old plants with your own seed and soil?
Asked by Pinnacle.
- A:Answer Our Seed Pods are not reusable since they get overgrown with roots. You should have no issues with transplanting the Aerogarden seed pods into your own soil if you care to do so. Please visit our website to find our Grow Anything Seed Pod Kits that you can use to plant your own seeds in our seedpods. We do not recommend using any other products with the Aerogarden than our own, since we haven't tested their efficacy. Please reach out to our Customer Service team with any further questions or concerns.

Q: QuestionI see this this the "flower kit". Can I grow veggies/herbs with this AeroGarden model?
Asked by FlowersORHerbs.
This question was asked about the related product: AeroGarden - Harvest Elite Slim – Indoor Garden – Easy Setup – 6 grow pods included - Stainless – Flower kit
- A:Answer You can grow tons of different things - currently I have lettuce on one side and herbs on the other. For larger plants like tomatoes/peppers I’d recommend sticking to just those rather than growing with other things at the same time

Q: QuestionHow long does it take to grow ?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer You should be able to start harvesting your Heirloom Salad Greens in about 25-40 days after planting. Our lettuce and green varieties can last up to 4 months before bolting or bitterness set in. Please reach out to our Customer Service Team with any further questions or concerns.

Q: QuestionI started my tomatoes in mid september i have about 40 green tomatoes on my plants but none have started turning red yet. Is this normal? About how long before they turn red?
Asked by tomatoes.
- A:Answer We're sorry to hear the tomatoes have not been produced yet. You should see yellow flowers on your tomato plants at 5-7 weeks and around week 8-9, tomatoes should set. Adding an extra capful of our Liquid Plant Food at each feeding will help your Tomatoes turn red, in this situation. Please contact our customer service team for further assistance. In the meantime, our blog does have a lot of helpful tips.

Asked by klee.
This question was asked about the related product: AeroGarden - Harvest Elite Slim – Indoor Garden – Easy Setup – 6 grow pods included - Stainless – Flower kit
- A:Answer The AeroGarden Harvest Slim model would have the same features in both options but the complimentary seed kits would vary. You would either pick Flowers (Cascading Petunias) or Heirloom Salad Greens to accompany your AeroGarden.

Q: QuestionI would like to ask if I can grow cucumbers on it? Thank you.
Asked by Bren.
- A:Answer You can grow a number of different kinds of plants in the Aerogarden, and Cucumber just happens to be one of them. Please visit our website to find our Grow Anything Seed Pod Kits that you can use to plant your own Cucumber seeds. It's beneficial to use a trellis system to support the vines as they grow.
