All That Jazz [Criterion Collection] [Blu-ray] [1979]

Hadn't seen All That Jazz since 1979. Been watching Fosse/Verdon currently on FX. Anywhoooo......immediately ordered All That Jazz. Bob Fosse was a GENIUS!!!! Incredible movie about his life via the character of Joe Gideon excellently played by Roy Scheider. Utterly mind blowing of all of his talent and amazed he was able to perform/choreograph/direct with all of the speed, cigarettes, alcohol, drugs and health problems that plagued Bob Fosse. One of the best movies ever made and will enjoy watching again and again.

After watching “Fosse/Verdon” on television. I decided to buy and watch “All That Jazz” a semi-biographical film portraying the life of Bob Fosse. This film was very much like the television mini series.

4 Oscars, 4 Oscar Nominations, and world class actors, dancers, stage productions, directing and writing. What more can you want? An entertaining inside look at the production of a Broadway show and a nice way to remember Ann Reinking who passed away this month.

This movie should be part of any movie collection. Great music and study of the life of Bob Fosse. You will love it!

After watching Fosse/Verdon on tv I couldn’t wait to see this again. It didn’t disappoint.
