Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5At first, I was reluctant to talk to a hockey puck. Okay so I am old fashioned. I use smart sockets in some areas in my home. I have them connected to my phone. But I found out you could program the Echo Dot to them. I have gotten used to talking to it. I now command it to turn on and turn off certain things around my home. You can command it to guard your home. You can ask where your orders are. If you say good morning it will give you information as to what happened on that date years ago. You can joke with it too. The things you can do with it are endless.

Love my Echo Dot!

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I purchased the Ring Doorbell at Best Buy and the Echo Dot was included with the purchase. Thanks Best Buy! I love my Echo Dot! All you need to do is plug it in, get the app on your phone and follow the prompts. I ask Alexa silly questions, I ask her to play music, tell me jokes, set up my alarm, set up reminders, I ask for the weather, the time, etc. love it!

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5This was a gift for my granddaughter’s friend. He has MS and is confined in a wheelchair. He could use his arms a couple year’s ago, but only his fingers now. Echo has changed his life. He can talk on the phone and reach his family and friends. It was the best gift EVER.

A little mighty Echo
|Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5These Echoes are small but versatility and convenient. A nice feature is that with 2 of them you can link them as stereo speakers (just for streaming music services). I got one for free as part of a bundle with Echo Show and bought the second one for less than $25 so it was a great deal.

Q: QuestionDoes the 3rd generation have Alexa? So all you have to do is ask it a question and need no other equipment?
Asked by PATCH.
- A:Answer Yes. And the speaker itself is much better than the 1st and 2nd generation!
Answered by Jerome
Q: QuestionMy Mom doesn't use a smartphone. Is it possible for me to set up an Echo Dot or Echo in her apt using my smartphone for the Alexa app ... and then can I use this to check in on her and start a conversation without her needing to issue a command to answer?
Asked by Larry.
- A:Answer Yes you can set up the Echo on your acct/smartphone BUT if you call her using another Echo on your account in your house let's say, she will hear the Echo 'ringing' and will need to say, "Alexa, answer the call' for her Echo to pick up and start the speaker phone call from you. My 80+ year old mom can do this. Suggest you write the answer call phrase on an index card and leave it with her if needed, plus good to 'demo' the process with her on a landline and you on your phone, so you & she can see how it words and sounds.

Q: QuestionHow do I get echo dot to play music? Is the music free or need to sign up with music plan?
Asked by Lil.
- A:Answer It works with your free subscription to Pandora, You Tube or Spotify. Just ask Alexa to play music on one of these music services.

Q: QuestionIs the app available on a PC? (for a grandparent who doesn't own a smartphone)
Asked by Kyle.
- A:Answer Yes. I setup my first 2 from my laptop. Now I have a Chromebook and setup the last one I purchased from it. I don't have the app on my phone because I use the phone primarily for work and want to keep my contacts private. PS - use all 3, none of them went bad.

Q: QuestionI bought the echo dot I don't know what app to get on my I phone for this product. can you please helpmeet with the app
Asked by millie.
- A:Answer Download the free “Amazon Alexa” app
Answered by Sandy
Q: QuestionHow do I set this up?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer First download the Alexa app on your device, then plug in your echo dot , the echo dot light will turn light red/orange while pairing with your phone then wait for the light to turn blue and Alexa will say hello , then follow the instructions on the Alexa app. On the app just add the device to your list and scan the unique scan code that’s include inside the echo dot box. After set up just ask Alexa anything.

Q: QuestionHow can I get my Echo Dot (2nd floor) to play same music as my Echo (main floor)?
Asked by Timmy.
- A:Answer In the Alexa app, you can create a group. When you click on devices, create a speaker group. Add the devices that you want to that group, Then, when you play a song, say "Play on the group". we have a group called everywhere and it plays on all of the echo dots.
