I have connected with 1. sonoffs to turn on and off all light switches in my home. 2. harmony hub to turn on, turn off, change channel or HDMI on my tv and Yamaha rx-v665 with surround speakers system. 3. Orvibo allone pro to control AirCondition, Playstation and electric fan. 4. Use drop in or announcement to another echo as intercom and video call to my dad thousands miles away. 5. Security alarm system and use voice commands. 6. Bluetooth speaker. Alexa to computer like I am on starship Enterprise.

We use it for the daily briefings, alarms, listen to our favorite music while dressing, weather reports home and other locations, and any questions we need answers to. I have the Echo Show 2nd addition in the kitchen where we use it for many things, but i really like it as a photo frame slide show that runs all the time. Just so you know the 5 will also do the slide show and play the music.

For some reason calls won't come in on my Echo but calls will go out. The menu sometimes offers movies and recipes. I was even able to practice my Spanish with Echo. I wish It had Hulu.

I have it in my bedroom and it’s the perfect alarm. I can also listen to my favorite Internet show, Elvis & Friends, each Sunday morning Couldn’t keep it on my phone but it’s perfect here. I’m still learning all the uses but I love it!

Good products with bad customer appreciation

I was very dissatisfied with the store not returning/damaging out my Phillips Wiz light bulbs, part of a estimated $400 total purchase, that were advertised but did not connect with Google. Corporate customer service couldn’t identify the regional or district contacts but recommend that I contact the manufacturer. Customer service also indicated it was in the manager’s discretion to accept or credit the return. During the return I was considering purchasing other bigger ticket items but declined to do so based upon circumstances. I definitely didn’t feel like a valued customer.

Voice calling is easy to other Alexa's in a home office or with the bridge to contacts and businesses outside. I looked up the hours of a business and then Alexa offered to call them me. Convenient and quick.

But the most handy for me is using it as a video monitor for my new camera secruity system . I highly suggest getting one of these for mant reasons . Did i mention you can play Jeopardy on it ?!

- A:Answer This is Amazon's product line of Alexa enabled smart speakers. With compatible devices or smart products around your house, you can control anything from the washing machine to your lights. This is basically an Echo with a screen. It has the same functionality but with a screen to show you what's going on. In order to use this product, you will need an internet connection and a compatible tablet or smart phone.

- A:Answer As long as your thermostat and plugs say that they can be controlled by Alexa, this will work for you. If they don't necessarily say they will work with Alexa, there are a few services that act as a third party and have skills set up to enable this devices to work with Alexa. If you have owned an older version of an echo and the thermostat and plugs have worked, you are set, this is basically just a new version of the product.

- A:Answer You can set a personal photo as the background but I haven't found a way to automatically rotate photos. On the Alexa app select the device. Scroll down to the bottom to Home Screen Background and go from there.
