I love my Kindle Paperwhite
||Posted .I am so happy with my Kindle Paperwhite. While others may complain about the ads, one swipe and it's gone. I can't figure out why anyone has a problem with that. For three weeks, shortly after purchase, I thought I had lost my Kindle Paperwhite. I was frantic. After several days of looking everywhere I could think of and retracing my steps, I called Kindle customer service to deactivate it. As St. Anthony was on my side, I found it a week later. One call to customer service, answering a couple of questions, and I was back in business. I was handled with the utmost of courtesy. Apparently people are losing Kindles all the time, leaving them behind in restrooms and airports. You must deactivate your Kindle if it's lost or stolen and call customer service. They will deactivate it from their end and render it useless thereby preventing anyone from accessing your Amazon account. I'm aware that some devices are equipped with tracking abilities. I think it might be somewhat helpful to Kindle owners if this ability could be built into Kindles. So, if there was anything to add to to what's not so great, that's it. That is why I downgraded Features to Good. For anyone who is an avid reader of books, magazines or newspapers, I highly recommend the Kindle Paperwhite. It is easily read in any lighting situation, even sunlight, without glare. It is comfortable to hold, small enough to carry around, battery life is very good, easily recharged, purchasing reading materials from Amazon is simple, and an enormous amount of storage utilizing the cloud. I would also recommend that you purchase a cover for your Kindle Paperwhite. This will protect it from unexpected falls and scratches which cannot be avoided with regular use.

Convenient and easy on the eyes
||Posted .The paperwhite is great for reading just about anywhere. I take it everywhere and love reading it while waiting for and riding on the bus. I don't have any problems reading it in bed either. It was important to me to be able to read in dim light or darkness, so I chose the paperwhite over the basic model and have not been disappointed. It has brightness control so I dim it in a dark area and crank it up in the sunshine. Checking out library books is fast and easy. I just wish publishers gave libraries a better selection. I started out reading books on a kindle app on my iphone, but it gave me eyestrain. That is not a problem on the paperwhite. I haven't had it long enough to evaluate the battery life but I love that it keeps me from running down my iphone battery during the day. It's a great value for the price.

Easy on the eyes
||Posted .I own both a Nook HD and a Kindle Fire HD, both are great products, but when it comes to reading outside it is near impossible. I then purchased a basic Kindle and wow! what a difference for outdoor reading! I enjoy reading the e-ink so much that I then decided to upgrade to the Kindle paperwhite and I couldn't be happier. The lighting is different than the Nook HD and Kindle Fire HD which makes it easier on the eyes when reading at night. I am really glad I purchased this e-reader. Books download super fast!

Worth the extra money!
||Posted .I have been reading on the original Kindle for a very long time and I wanted to check out the Paperwhite. I wasn't sure if it was worth the extra $50 for the light and the touch screen. However, i was blown away the light makes the contrast much better and easier to read in bright light or low/no light setting. The touch screen preforms excellently and is very responsive. (This is a huge improvement over the side buttons for page turning) The on-screen keyboard works very well and it makes reading with one hand an absolute joy.Its everything you could want from an e-reader with a few nice surprises thrown in. If you are on the fence about getting a Kindle or a Kindle Paperwhite. Spend the extra money for the Paperwhite. You will not be disappointed. There is so many more good things I could say, but the device really speaks for itself.

Love this Kindle
||Posted .I already had the regular Kindle. We went to check out the PaperWhite Kindle & Kindle Fire. I decided on the PaperWhite because I really only want it for reading so I didn't need all the features of Kindle Fire. I love my new Kindle. It took a few times to figure it out but now can't be happier. I can read and not have to turn on any lights to see it. I can transfer books from my first Kindle to this one. It's also touchscreen which took me a few times again but now it's great. I would recommend this anyone who just likes to read but see it so much better. Very happy.

Perfect compliment to Smartphones/Tablets
||Posted .Even though I already have several devices that access my Kindle library, none of them work as well everywhere as the Kindle Paperwhite. The e-ink display combined with the ingenious internal lighting make for a screen that can be read anywhere, under any lighting condition from poolside sun to a dark bedroom. It's also light enough to take anywhere or hold without fatigue while being about the same size as a paperback book, much better form factor for reading than a smartphone or laptop.

Awesome E-reader!!
||Posted .This is my first e-reader, and it's just awesome. I love the paperwhite screen, it feels like i'm reading a book. The portability is great, i can read everywhere, the subway, the bus, the park, even in daylight and when it's dark. Your eyes won't get tired at all! The self-lighting it so good! If you like to read a lot, and you want some portability, this is perfect for you!

My first e-reader
||Posted .This is my first e-reader. I have to say, it takes some getting used to, since you have to read page by page and can't skim or flip too much like a hard copy book. Other than that, I am very pleased with it so far and like the features of increasing font, long battery life, and book previews. I bought Kindle instead of Nook because I liked the feature of being able to read it outside in the sunlight, and I think Amazon has more book selection. I also purchased the ebook cover that automatically turns it on/off, which comes in very handy. The ads don't bother me at all (they are actually interesting on new books), so I'm glad I didn't purchase the one w/o the ads.
