Finally gave in and bought a Kindle. I love holding a book and not being distracted by IMs, text messages and the like on my mobile devices. BUT this makes reading just as enjoyable. Now I don’t have to lug around a book and saves much needed space when traveling. Did it take me so long to convert?

Easy to read and use.
Owned for 5 months when reviewed.
Bought one for both my husband and myself. We use them almost daily. Easy to pack and carry on vacations. Easy to see and read text in all kinds of light.
This is my first e-reader. I researched them before I made the purchase and decided this one was my best option. The books are easy to upload and screen can be adjusted to read in any light. You can also make the font any size. Battery does last for as long as the ad states, too. I just love this Kindle
I’ve always been a generation behind with Kindles. I had a Kindle from 2016 that was working pretty fine, except for some damaged pixels, but the Paperwhite tempted me with that lovely soft front light. And it is a great little eReader. I love that I can read in the dark (like I am right now) and its battery life is much better than my last Kindle. Setup is falling-off-a-log easy, as long as you’re somewhat familiar with Amazon, and I love that I can download and return Kindle Unlimited books easily and quickly. Oh, and I’m a librarian assistant, so I’ve already put a LOT of mileage on this thing. It’s holding up beautifully. One suggestion would be to include Find My (or an equivalent) so you can somehow ping it when you can’t find it. I solved this issue with a Tile Sticker on the back cover of the case, but it would be awesome if you could just page it from another device, like you can your iPhone from your Apple Watch.
I've owned two Kindle Paperwhites prior to this one and I sold or returned those, but this one is a keeper. The Paperwhites that I previously owned did not have a flush, one-piece front--the bezels were slightly raised above the touchscreen. I did not like this because every time I pressed the touchscreen (even if just gently), I felt that I was pressing the screen IN, because it was a second piece that seemed behind the bezels (kind of like a picture frame, and I was pressing the picture inward). The cheaper, non-"Paperwhite" regular Kindle has this exact set up (like a picture in a picture frame).
I'm a very voracious reader and I love this Paperwhite Kindle. The back of it is a smooth yet rubbery-feeling material that makes it nice to have a good hold on while reading with one hand. It is so light I can hold it for hours on end while reading. I can read peacefully at night without disturbing my husband's sleep because I can turn all the lights off and still read in the dark. I think Amazon finally got it right.
I like this device. The only advertisement I get is on the Lock Screen and it’s just advertising another book. It’s not bothersome at all. It doesn’t have color, so all of your colors are in black and white. I bought a cover for it on Amazon that protects the screen. I take it with me everywhere. When I’m at appointments and have to wait it’s a great time to read. It’s a good size and perfect for holding comfortably.
The analysis of all aggregated expert reviews shows that the reviewers are positive about size, portability, screen and durability. Editors are less positive about performance and have mixed opinions about storage. Using an algorithm based on product age, reviewers ratings history, popularity, product category expertise and other factors, this product gets an alaTest Expert Rating of 95/100 = Excellent quality.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 2018 review: The e-book reader for the massesThe new Kindle Paperwhite doesn't look much different from the previous model, but a host of nice upgrades -- it's slightly slimmer, fully waterproof and has Bluetooth for Audible listening -- make it a winner.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite reviewThe Kindle Paperwhite is Amazon's mid-range ereader, sitting between the affordable Kindle and the top-end Kindle Oasis in Amazon's range, and the design reflects that. It doesn't feel as premium as the Oasis - mostly as it has a plastic rear -

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite (2018) Review: The Best Got BetterWith water-resistance and a flush-to-screen display, Amazon's taken the Paperwhite and made it even more compelling. The only downside is that it costs $10 more now.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite (2018)The first upgrade to Amazon's most popular e-reader in three years, the new Kindle Paperwhite the least expensive waterproof ebook reader on the market. It supports audiobooks and it has a new flat-front design, making it ideal for beach reading
A:AnswerI have heard you can pay a monthly fee to get rid of the ads, but the only ad that I have seen is the book suggestion when you wake up the device. Once you swipe to turn on the ad goes away and the book comes up. Ads do not appear while you are reading. This is similar in all Kindle devices that I have owned.
A:AnswerIf you have previous Kindle, all your books are stored through your Amazon account--so that way if you need to replace your kindle it is easy to access on a new one. Your Kindle Library is accessible on any Kindle.
A:AnswerYes, This is device is great for that. Not only is this less intrusive to other people around you but also great for reading before bed. The idea of these devices is there is no backlight so it is lit from around the edges more like light shining on the page of a book. The light settings go from 0-24, usually in a normal reading setting during the day I have mine set anywhere from 20 - 24 but then at night when the lights are low reading before bed I set it between 8 - 10. It is very simple to adjust the brightness while reading.
A:AnswerYou can get some free books. Most current bestsellers require payment, but less than buying a hard copy of the book. Local public librarys also allow you to check books out digitally for free with a library card.
A:AnswerWhispersync is Amazon's technology that lets readers switch “back and forth between a Kindle book and Audible professional narration - without ever losing your place.” The way it works is that you first buy the Kindle book, and then for Whispersync enabled books you can add the Audibile audiobook to the purchase.
Yes it does have audible.com store on the device. All you need to do is to tap on the 3 vertical dots on the right side of the Home Screen. Then you will see the audible store. You can tap on the audible store, and you are there to purchase your audiobooks and then they will be downloaded onto the device upon purchase of them.
It has a 3.5mm jack connector hole on the top of the device, so that you can connect your headphones/earbuds to the device (Bluetooth enabled headphones or earbuds).
It has Bluetooth capabilities on the device as well. And here are the directions on how to connect: To listen to Audible books on your Kindle, you must first pair a Bluetooth audio device, such as
headphones or speakers. There are two ways you can pair a Bluetooth audio device.
Pairing a Bluetooth device when opening an audiobook:
1. Tap My Library from the Home screen, then tap Downloaded.
2. Tap on the audiobook you want to listen to. If you have not paired a Bluetooth device, you
will receive a prompt to do so after the Play button is pressed.
3. Put your Bluetooth audio device into pairing mode.
4. Tap on the Bluetooth device you want to use.
5. Once the device is paired, the audiobook will play through that device.
Pairing a Bluetooth device via Settings:
1. Put your Bluetooth audio device into pairing mode.
2. Tap My Library in the top left of the Home screen. Tap the Quick Actions icon
on the toolbar, then tap All Settings. On the Settings page, tap Wi-Fi & Bluetooth, then
3. If you have already downloaded an Audible book, open the book and tap No Bluetooth
Connected to open the Bluetooth dialog.
