The description lists this as a Range Extender. It is not, it is a meshpoint that allows you to use your existing router as a mesh network. Coverage is wonderful and allows you to use your existing SSID from your router in addition to not cutting the connection speeds in half for the devices that connect to the meshpoint. Painless set up, all I had to do was add it to my existing AmpliFi router then it's up and running. This really made a difference in the signal and speed of my wifi in my home office. I live in an apartment building where wifi signals are interfering with each other because there are too many of them of these day!!, this mesh point and the same brand router fixed those problems. Firmware updates are delivered by the app on my iPhone. Definitely worth buying!
