Product Manuals

Q: What is the youngest age child this would be good for?

A: Thats hard to say. As long as your child can follow directions, she/he should be alright under supervision. My 1 year old wants to pick it up and drive it around like other toy cars and my 3 year old can't focus on the task/directions given long enough to accomplish anything (needs more patience). My 6 year old is alright, but keeps trying to talk to the robot and it doesn't have a microphone to attempt to understand she is asking to play a game, or to do whatever she is telling (not asking) it to do. Cozmo asks you to play via app and by the actions it takes/sounds it makes. It can also can identify you, and say your name. I think these, for lack of better words, behaviors, confuse the kids and make them think it can do more. If you can see me and talk, you must be able to hear me and understand me too. All in all, its a good toy bought to keep my kids engaged into robotics and getting some exposure to the fun side of technology while starting to try to get them to use their brains and create their own ideas. You can do some programming from the app, and will attempt to expose that to my 6 year old at the end of first grade as they are already exposed to basic math and simular problems solving skills.

Q: My grandson is 12 and will be 13 in March 2018. Is Cozmo appropriate for his age? I don't mind spending the money if he will enjoy the robot. I'm concerned he would get bored after a short time. Help!!!

A: Yes this item will entertain him for a long time because there is plenty of growth with the item in that the more you interact with him the more he learns and he will learn new abilities as well with that interaction.

Q: Does cozmo have feelings and know what you say

A: Cosmo does have feelings, however he can’t respond to voice. Vector, cosmos newest little brother on the other hand can respond to both voice and touch.

Q: We have Cosmo but my 8 year old has asked if we can get a friend for Cosmo. If we buy another can the 2 interact with each other?

A: The best thing to do is to play more with Cosmo and be the friend to Cosmo. The more you use it, the more it is able to better interact. It sounds like your 8 year old wants to be passively entertained rather than taking a more active role. Play the games, drive Cosmo around, have it recognize his face. My family likes this robot a lot. We even use it as a "stealth spy" in our in-house Nerf battles since you can see what it sees.

Q: Does this Cozmo Model:000-00057 come with everything needed for my Grandson to start using Christmas morning?

A: Yes, charge him up and he's ready to go. You do need a smartphone, tablet, or computer for control and learning.

Q: I have 3 grandchildren in the same home. If I purchase 3 will they interfere with each other? Each has their own device but can they all be set up differently on the same device? Parental control.

A: I am not completely sure what you are asking but each Cozmo requires its own smart phone/tablet. The brains of the robot is actually the app on/and the phone itself. The robot literally is just sensors, and motors sending data to the phone over a private Wi-Fi network (ad-hoc) and the control/response data goes back to the robot.
