Antec - Laptop Cooler

USE IT TO KEEP MY LAPTOP COOL AS THE SPECIALIZED SOFTWARE I USE MAKES IT RUN HOT AND BLUE SCREEN. THIS COOLER IS THE ONLY ONE I HAVE TRIED THAT KEEPS IT COOL SO IT DOES NOT FRITZ OUT AND IT IS PRETTY QUIET.

I have owned this for about three years. I use it to cool stereo equipment (by placing it under the stereo). It ran continuously for about three years before I started having problems with it. It became noisy, so I am now looking for a replacement. Other laptop coolers I have owned have failed in the first 3-6 months of continuous use, so I am really happy with the long life this unit has had.

It has two fans with a low/high speed setting. There's going to be a certain level of noise, but unless you're in an uber quiet environment, they are certainly not abnormally loud. My only complaint is it has an LED to display power and the thing is bright as heck.

This item was a terrible investment. It was not the correct size for my 16" laptop even though it is supposed to fit that size. Once I manage to balance the machine on it, I must be very careful to ensure that it does not slide off. The worst problem, however, is the noise. After several months of owning this device, the fans began making terrible noises. At first, I noticed the noise only when the device started. After a few minutes, the fans would quiet down significantly. Now, however, the noise is a constant, loud rattling that does not abate. Of course, the warranty period has expired, so I have no recourse other than to purchase a new cooler.
