Great but falls short
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When anthem debuted, it was definitely an ambitious take on an open world gaming experience. Now that the game has released and I have gotten to play it in its entirety, I feel as if the developer was given more time the game could have been truely great. This game has been “downgraded” visually and mechanically since it’s debut at E3 in 2017. On top of that, after completeing the game, there is practically no “end game” content that compels players to keep coming back. Hopefully that changes over time, but this seems to be the trend in this genre of game. Really the only one to get the formula right was Destiny 1. I’m worried this game will die just as quickly as it came to life. On a positive note the game is fun and plays great. It is gorgeous despite its downgrades and the physics are phenomenal. Worth buying if you want a fun game that will keep you semi-interested upon completing it at least for a short period of time. Would be awesome to see BioWare and Bungi team up and ditch activision and EA. These parent companies are really killing the gaming market.

Fun, especially at sale price
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's ok. I wouldn't have paid full price for it but got it for $6.88 on clearance making it a good value. So if you are able to get it cheap then do os for the PVP combat.

Has potential
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Gonna be honest here, I wont recommend the game as it is now. However, the gameplay is good but the story and content are lacking. They are already patching tons of bugs and I am having fun with the game because the loot is pretty good. But for those on the fence, wait a few months and see if the content gets better. Very similar launch to destiny 1.

It's almost a good game.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While I like Anthem, it's clearly an unfinished game. There's no doubt. The strongest point of the game are the Javelins themselves. Think of Iron Man armor loaded with weapons with tons of customization. They fly, go underwater, run, jump, and deliver mayhem to the enemies in Anthem. Loads of fun just running around with these things. However, the rest of the game has problems. Bugs, lack of mission variety, lack of enemy variety, scaled down graphics, questionable loot drops and a pretty weak end game. Sure, this will all probably be fixed eventually, but I have a dim view of releasing unfinished games. I would say wait a few months before buying. By then, I will be able to recommend it to a friend.

Lots of fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've seen mixed reviews of this from game journalists, but as a fan of previous Bioware games like the Mass Effect and Dragon Age series, I'm having a lot of fun with this new IP from the studio. I'm traditionally a solo player and love RPGs, so I usually shy away from online multiplayer games, but Anthem has enough of the traditional Bioware flavor, while still being its own game, to keep me happy combined with fun gameplay and combat that have convinced me to fly my javelin out of my comfort zone and multiplayer missions. I really enjoy the game mechanics, especially the flying, and I've enjoyed exploring the world and talking to NPCs. I doubt any game will ever rise to the world and character-building heights of Mass Effect or Mass Effect 2, but Anthem is fun and I don't regret my purchase at all.

Not as bad as the "professional" reviews say it is
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you've read anything about this game, you've probably written it off. Maybe @ $59.99 there's not enough gameplay at launch, but the game is now being discounted a bit; so, IMO, the value is there. The gameplay is actually very good. The ability to fly and hover make this game quite unique in how the maps are structured and how you can approach combat situations. Each of the four javelins feel and play significantly different from each other. The only thing holding me back from giving this game 5 stars is the lack of diverse content at release. Many free updates were planned, but they have been delayed -- hopefully not indefinitely. I really like this game. There just needs to be more off it.
